Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

29 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Texas Pete!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pete misses with a body kick.
Altare closes the distance and clinches.
Pete lands a body punch in the clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Pete.
It looks like John Altare has been cut.
Pete can't find room to land a body shot as Altare controls the action.
Pete lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Pete pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pete misses with a straight right.
Pete goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Pete wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Altare lands a really nice looking cross but Pete seems unphased.
Altare takes the fight into the clinch.
Pete blocks an uppercut.
Still in the clinch, Pete scores with a nice short uppercut.
I was talking to Altare's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Altare lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Pete blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Pete pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Altare takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Altare ducks right into an uppercut from Pete.
Pete's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Altare connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Pete scrambles back to his feet.
Pete lands with an overhand left.

Altare just misses with a punch to the body.
Oh Altare is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Altare is looking to clinch.
Pete takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Altare seems to have got his legs back now.
Altare takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Altare looks to throw the jab but Pete is out of range.
Pete bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Pete throws out a counter right but Altare avoids it with no problem.
Pete bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Altare throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Altare tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pete manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Altare avoids a kick to the body.
Altare rushes Pete and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pete breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Altare tries to work over Pete's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Pete wants to get back to striking at distance but Altare won't allow it.

Pete throws a sloppy head kick and Altare moves out of range easily.

Pete has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Altare seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Pete can turn it around.
A nice right hand lands inside from Pete.

Altare tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pete paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A little jabbing left from Pete on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Pete ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Altare moves away.

Altare is breathing heavily.
Pete misses with a kick to the body.
Altare ducks right into an uppercut from Pete.
John Altare's cut is getting worse.
Altare looks to score with a jab to the body but Pete is just out of range.
Pete lands a slapping body shot.
Pete sends Altare crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Pete is motioning to the referee to let Altare up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Pete throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
A decent looking cross lands there for Altare.

Pete throws a series of punches but Altare avoids them all with ease.

Altare uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

and Pete counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Altare wants to clinch up but Pete keeps it at a distance.
Pete swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Pete now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Altare has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Pete.
Altare moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pete lands a big right hand that drops Altare! The killer instinct kicks in and Pete finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Pete!
