The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Barney Rumble!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rumble forces Burns back against the cage and clinches.
Rumble goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Burns is trying to force a seperation but Rumble has the dominant position.
Burns is trying to break the clinch but Rumble is controlling him.

Rumble lands an elbow just above Burns 's eye.


It looks like William Burns has been cut.
Burns wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rumble has him pressed against the cage.
Burns wants to break free but Rumble has control.
Rumble told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
Burns pushes off an throws an elbow but Rumble leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Burns breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Burns is trying to break free.
Rumble using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Burns has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Rumble lands an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burns is trying to break the clinch but Rumble has him pressed against the cage.
Rumble on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Rumble lands a hook to the side of the head.
Rumble lands a knee to the body.
Burns is breathing heavily.
A nice left hand lands by Rumble.
A short right from Rumble on the inside.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee calls for Rumble to work.
Rumble landing some nice looking knees to the body.
A short uppercut from Rumble.
Rumble lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rumble creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Rumble drops Burns with a big knee straight up the middle! Burns is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!


Burns is rocked!
Rumble fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Burns square on the jaw! Damn, Burns is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Barney Rumble!
Barney Rumble decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
