Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ronald Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gray Cuida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronald Griffin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gray Cuida! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cuida takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Gray Cuida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cuida misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Cuida misses with an uppercut. Griffin saw that one coming. Griffin checks a low kick from Cuida. Cuida fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. A jab from Cuida misses. Griffin shoots in for a takedown but Cuida shows good takedown defense. Cuida feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Griffin has his foot on Cuida's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cuida works his way back into a safe position though. Griffin working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Cuida has passed into half guard!
Cuida looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Griffin trying to control but Cuida postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin keeping control of the position. Griffin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cuida's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cuida's back! Cuida rolls, trying to escape but Griffin keeps control of the position.
Griffin is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Cuida knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Cuida for a finish. Cuida controlling Griffin 's hands. Cuida has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Griffin.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Griffin is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Cuida is defending well though. Griffin let's go of the attempt for now. Cuida is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Griffin off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Griffin somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Cuida covering up well under a series of strikes from Griffin. Cuida wants to escape the position.
Griffin is looking for the choke from the back position but Cuida is controlling his hands well. Griffin avoiding Cuida 's attempts to control his hands. Even with his hooks in, Griffin manages to miss with strikes from the back. Cuida wants to escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Will Griffin go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Cuida trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Griffin lands shots from the back. Cuida is trying to break free.
Cuida keeps trying to improve his position. Griffin biding his time, controlling Cuida. Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Griffin.
Cuida is really stuck here.
Cuida is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Griffin gets his way!
Cuida is trying to defend against the choke here but Griffin has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Griffin Tightens the hold and Cuida taps out furiously! Griffin displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ronald Griffin! Gray Cuida spoke after the fight, saying 'This is why I run...'.
