The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Byczynski checks a leg kick. Byczynski misses with a double jab.
Byczynski scores with a jab. Ranyy acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Jab by Byczynski. Byczynski jabbing away but nothing is landing. As Byczynski backs off Ranyy throws a huge counter combo but Byczynski manages to avoid it all. Byczynski dodges the punch combination from Ranyy.
Ranyy shoots for a double leg takedown but Byczynski sprawls well. He's pushed Ranyy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A chopping leg kick lands by Byczynski. Byczynski definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Byczynski pushing out the jab but it's not landing. As Byczynski backs off Ranyy throws a huge counter combo but Byczynski manages to avoid it all. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ranyy tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Byczynski defends well and Ranyy ends up having to push Byczynski into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Byczynski lands with a good body shot. Ranyy gets a clinch. Byczynski pushes off an throws an elbow but Ranyy leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Byczynski has Ranyy pressed against the cage, preventing Ranyy from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Ranyy is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Byczynski gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Byczynski using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Ranyy looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Byczynski gets through Ranyy's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Byczynski's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Ranyy is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Ranyy wants to pass the guard but Byczynski is keeping the position. Byczynski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Byczynski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tele Ranyy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Byczynski ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Byczynski stuffs the takedown.
