Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kelvin Bang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Wellman Iv! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bang keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wellman Iv misses the jab. Bang drops down looking for a counter takedown but Wellman Iv sprawls and moves away. Bang fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Wellman Iv. Wellman Iv throws a lazy body kick and Bang counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Wellman Iv is looking to control Bang's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wellman Iv avoid being mounted? Bang wants to free his trapped foot but Wellman Iv is holding on for dear life with his legs. Bang lands with a punch from half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bang in particular looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wellman Iv regains full guard. Nicely done. Bang trying to control the position from guard on top but Wellman Iv is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bang seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Bang has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Wellman Iv keeping full guard, as Bang tries to pass.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Bang moves out of range of the strikes. Bang walks into a straight right hand from Wellman Iv.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wellman Iv works the jab nicely. Bang shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Wellman Iv has hold of Bang's hands but Bang slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Bang is figuring out what he wants to do next. Bang throwing shots but Wellman Iv is blocking nicely. Bang sitting and controlling from the half guard. Wellman Iv is looking for a sweep. Bang is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bang tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wellman Iv knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Wellman Iv trying to control from the bottom.
Bang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wellman Iv keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wellman Iv wants to control but Bang is keeping busy.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wellman Iv moves out of range as Bang throws a body kick.
Bang uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wellman Iv. Kelvin Bang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bang tries to land a body kick and Wellman Iv counters with a lovely straight right hand! Bang swings for the body but Wellman Iv moves out of range.
Wellman Iv has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Bang. Bang misses with a head kick.
Nice sprawl there from Wellman Iv as Bang shoots in. Bang dives in and grabs Wellman Iv's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wellman Iv pushes down on Bang's head and hops out. Wellman Iv throws the left hand but Bang avoids the punch easily. Bang shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kelvin Bang. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wellman Iv sizes up Bang with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Bang tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bang moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Bang darts in and clinches Wellman Iv up against the cage. Bang is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Wellman Iv pulls him back up using the underhooks. Bang breaks the clinch.
A big right from Wellman Iv misses. Shane Wellman Iv is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wellman Iv throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bang sees it coming and avoids it easily. Bang takes one to the chin there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kelvin Bang dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Wellman Iv throws a hook to the side of Bang's head but Bang sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Bang half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Wellman Iv throws an overhand right that lands on Bang's shoulder, as Bang tries to avoid the shot. Bang walks into a left hand. Bang fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wellman Iv avoids it really well and circles away. Bang misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bang displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wellman Iv throws out the jab. Wellman Iv looks to score with a jab to the body but Bang is just out of range. Bang closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wellman Iv to the mat! Wellman Iv manages to get full guard. Wellman Iv escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bang gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bang wants to pass the guard but Wellman Iv is keeping the position.

Kelvin Bang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bang working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Wellman Iv's thigh. Wellman Iv counters though and makes it back to full guard. Bang slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wellman Iv swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bang controlling from the top position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bang pushes Wellman Iv away with a front kick. Bang closes the distance and pushes Wellman Iv back into the cage. Wellman Iv wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bang has him pressed against the cage. Bang misses with a knee to the head. Wellman Iv looking to stall.
Bang is looking for a takedown. Wellman Iv is trying to break the clinch but Bang is controlling him. Wellman Iv breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wellman Iv throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bang drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wellman Iv is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bang trying to control the position but Wellman Iv is working away. Wellman Iv taking punishment in the form of punches.

Bang throws a sloppy head kick and Wellman Iv moves out of range easily. A big right from Wellman Iv misses. Bang changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wellman Iv tries to avoid it but Bang manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wellman Iv to the ground. Wellman Iv escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Wellman Iv throws a lazy right hand but Bang sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Kelvin Bang is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bang ducks under a wild hook from Wellman Iv. Bang half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Excellent takedown into side control there by Bang. Bang works to advance to full mount. Wellman Iv defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bang with a couple of short strikes. Bang looking to control and managing it successfully. Bang trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Bang uses his free foot to push down on Wellman Iv's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Wellman Iv. Wellman Iv tries to hold on but Bang pushes him away. Bang prevents Wellman Iv from getting the reversal. Bang looking to control and managing it successfully. Wellman Iv tries to lock up and control but Bang gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bang controlling from mount. Bang tries to control but Wellman Iv wriggling away. Bang controlling the position easily from mount. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wellman Iv slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Wellman Iv is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bang pulls his head out easily. Bang is figuring out what he wants to do next. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bang frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Kelvin Bang showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bang, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
