The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barrett closes the distance and pushes Goku back into the cage.
Barrett prevents Goku from breaking the clinch.
Barrett stalling.
Barrett keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Goku's efforts to push away.
Barrett tries to pull guard but Goku holds him up against the cage and eventually Barrett drops back down to his feet.

Barrett has Goku pushed against the cage.
Barrett is looking to take this one to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barrett drags the fight down to the ground.
Barrett keeping moving, preventing Goku from controlling successfully.

Barrett escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Goku gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Goku looking to pass the guard.
Goku wanted to stand there but Barrett had control of the position.

Barrett looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Barrett has a closed guard, preventing Goku from standing up.
Goku looking to sit in guard and control but Barrett gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Goku trying to keep a closed guard but Barrett is proving a slippery customer.
Barrett working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Goku looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Barrett drops back looking for a leg! Goku is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Goku manages to kick Barrett off! Barrett jumps back into Goku's guard.

Goku wants to sweep here but Barrett controlling him for the moment.
Goku is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Barrett could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Barrett is in close to Goku's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Goku looking for a sweep. Not yet Goku, not yet.

Barrett slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Goku.

Goku tries to get to full guard but Barrett has control of the leg.

Goku is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Barrett pulls his head out easily.

Barrett is trying to work for a kimura but Goku is defending well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Barrett connects with a nice short shot to Goku's temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Goku looks to clinch

and Barrett counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Goku pushes Barrett off but Barrett dives into side control.

Barrett tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Barrett has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Goku tries to improve position but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Goku wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Barrett has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Goku's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Goku is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Barrett!
