Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Pask (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piet Van Zyl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pask comes into the arena with 16 Tons blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Pask! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Piet Van Zyl! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pask shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Van Zyl counters with a one-two to the body. Pask gets caught napping as Van Zyl dives in and scores a takedown. Pask manages to retain guard. Pask can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Van Zyl controls the pace. Van Zyl wanted to stand there but Pask had control of the position. Van Zyl's corner is telling him to maintain position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pask not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Van Zyl is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Van Zyl is fighting to break Pask's control of his arms but Pask is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pask keeping moving, preventing Van Zyl from controlling successfully.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Pask goes for a double leg but Van Zyl avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Van Zyl continues to drive forward. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pask. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Pask. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pask misses with a takedown and Van Zyl counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Pask shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Van Zyl keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Van Zyl taking some punishment here, with Pask in his half guard. Pask is just content to waste time from the top position. Van Zyl takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Van Zyl has his hands on Pask's head, controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Van Zyl wants to get back to his feet but Pask is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Pask with a flurry of punches that miss. Pask trying to control but Van Zyl is working from the bottom. Pask stops Van Zyl from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pask looking to sit in guard and control but Van Zyl gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Pask might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Pask is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Van Zyl is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Van Zyl trying to control the position from guard on top but Pask is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pask can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Van Zyl controls the pace. Van Zyl wants to control from the top but Pask keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Van Zyl slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Van Zyl closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Pask's guard. Van Zyl not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pask looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Pask tries to land a sweep but no joy. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pask controlling Van Zyl's posture. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Piet Van Zyl dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Van Zyl bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Van Zyl tries to move into full mount but can't pass Pask's legs. Pask struggling a bit here. Van Zyl wants to stand but Pask has his arm trapped. Pask wants to control but Van Zyl postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van Zyl takes a little break here. Pask wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Van Zyl trying to control the position but Pask is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Zyl lands a few punches from side control. Van Zyl gets to mount! Pask was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Van Zyl trying to control but Pask is having none of it. Van Zyl working for a submission but Pask is keeping him at bay. Van Zyl with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pask keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Pask tries to hold on but Van Zyl pushes him away. Van Zyl looking to finish Pask with some ground and pound. This is bad for Pask! Van Zyl has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Pask bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Pask throws an elbow that misses. Van Zyl uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pask's guard. Nice move by Van Zyl! Pask keeping moving, preventing Van Zyl from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Zyl slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Van Zyl stopping the sweep attempt from Pask. Van Zyl is stalling in the full guard. Van Zyl is continuing to stall. Van Zyl would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Piet Van Zyl showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Van Zyl is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pask's half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Van Zyl is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pask is not content to let Van Zyl control the position. Van Zyl wants to stand up but Pask has a hold of him and won't allow it. Van Zyl controlling the action here. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Van Zyl connects with a nice short shot to Pask's temple.

Van Zyl shoots in and bounces Pask off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Van Zyl stays in close to Pask's body and controls the position. Pask is trying to control the position but Van Zyl postures up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Van Zyl accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Van Zyl seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Pask trying to keep a closed guard but Van Zyl is proving a slippery customer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Van Zyl throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Pask.
And that's the end of the fight! Piet Van Zyl comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Van Zyl has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
