Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shaw Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryusho Kobayashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shaw Maxwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryusho Kobayashi!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Shimada and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kobayashi lands a two punch combo.

Kobayashi tries to clinch but Maxwell moves out of range.
Kobayashi has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Maxwell.
Maxwell cracks Kobayashi with an open hand slap.
Kobayashi throws a sloppy head kick and Maxwell moves out of range easily.
Maxwell pushes Kobayashi away with a front kick.
Kobayashi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kobayashi fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Maxwell, pushing him back against the ropes.
Maxwell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Maxwell throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kobayashi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kobayashi avoids a punch combination nicely.
Maxwell lands a nice looking kick to the body. Kobayashi takes a step back to recover.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Maxwell throws a right and a left that Kobayashi avoids nicely.

Kobayashi shoots in but Maxwell avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Kobayashi moves in looking to clinch but Maxwell pushes him off.
Kobayashi lands with a kick to the temple. Maxwell shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Maxwell is rocked!
Maxwell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kobayashi moves away.
Oh Maxwell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kobayashi darts in and clinches Maxwell up against the ropes.
Maxwell seems to have got his legs back now.
Maxwell wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kobayashi tries to pull guard but Maxwell won't allow it.

Kobayashi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Maxwell is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Kobayashi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maxwell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maxwell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kobayashi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kobayashi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maxwell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kobayashi keeping busy on the bottom but Maxwell has passed one foot through into half guard.

Kobayashi is refusing to be controlled, as Maxwell sits in half guard.

Kobayashi is not content to let Maxwell control the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Maxwell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kobayashi clinches with his opponent.

Kobayashi uses his free foot to push down on Maxwell's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Maxwell.
Maxwell is trying to escape the mount.
Kobayashi won't let Maxwell get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Maxwell is trying desperately to improve position.
Maxwell is working hard here to advance position.
Maxwell regains half guard.
Kobayashi prevents Maxwell from improving his position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Kobayashi is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Maxwell!
Maxwell is squirming around, avoiding Kobayashi's attempts to control the action.
Maxwell manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Maxwell moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Maxwell thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Maxwell manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Kobayashi defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Maxwell.
Kobayashi is wriggling around trying to escape.
Maxwell lands a big elbow - Kobayashi is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Kobayashi is forced to tap out!
