Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billie Merrill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Dempsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henry Dempsey looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Merrill darts in and clinches Dempsey up against the cage.

Merrill is trying to trip Dempsey. He has hold of a leg but Dempsey is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Merrill persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Dempsey fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Merrill, pushing him back against the cage.

Merrill has Dempsey pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Merrill pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Dempsey tumbling to the mat - Merrill dives into Dempsey's guard.
Dempsey wants to stand but Merrill is controlling the position.
Dempsey not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Merrill knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dempsey on the ground.
Merrill is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dempsey is on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dempsey prevents Merrill from getting back to his feet.
Dempsey wants to stand but Merrill has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Merrill is looking to get back to his feet here but Dempsey is keeping cool and he's managed to take Merrill's back.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Dempsey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Merrill tries to avoid it but Dempsey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Merrill to the ground. Merrill escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Merrill closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dempsey quickly recovers to half guard.
Merrill working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Merrill connects with a nice short shot to Dempsey's temple.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
