PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shah Rokhan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shah Rokhan!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rokhan connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Wallace shoots in looking for a takedown. Rokhan tries to sprawl out of it but Wallace keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rokhan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wallace takes one on the button.
Rokhan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Wallace has a takedown stuffed.

Rokhan drives through and clinches with Wallace against the cage.
Rokhan throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Wallaces head.

Wallace pulls guard effortlessly.

Wallace has his foot on Rokhan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rokhan works his way back into a safe position though.
Wallace tries to strike from the bottom.

Wallace is looking for a triangle but Rokhan pushes his legs off easily.
Rokhan trying to control the position from guard on top but Wallace is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rokhan wants to get up but he can't break Wallace's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Wallace working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Rokhan has passed into half guard!
Wallace is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rokhan is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Rokhan prevents Wallace from improving his position.
Rokhan thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Wallace is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Rokhan pulls his head out easily.
Wallace is not content to let Rokhan control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rokhan blocks the strikes from Wallace.

Wallace has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Rokhan. Oh but Wallace has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Rokhan goes limp - he's gone! Wallace jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Chuck Wallace!
