Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rock Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pan Romek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rock Allen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pan Romek! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romek swings widly with a right hand
and Allen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. We've been hearing reports that Allen has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Allen.
Romek tries to clinch but Allen moves out of range. Allen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Romek regains half guard. Allen is looking for a kimura here.
Romek wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Allen perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Allen frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Allen landing strikes from the mount and Romek is in trouble! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Allen in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
That's one minute gone in the round. Romek tries to lock up and control but Allen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Allen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Romek's face.
Allen has control of Romek's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Romek regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Allen looking to control but Romek is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Allen looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Romek is working to get back to half guard.
Allen lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Allen stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Romek misses with a body punch
and Allen counters with a lovely straight right hand! Allen fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Romek closes the distance looking to clinch and Allen counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Romek misses with a lunging right hand
and Allen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Allen keeps the fight on the outside. Allen drives through and clinches with Romek against the cage.
Romek is looking to break free of the clinch but Allen has double underhooks. Allen blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Allen gets a trip takedown into half guard. Allen working over Romek with some ground and pound. Romek looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Allen seems to be looking for submissions.
Romek wants to control but Allen passes into side.
Romek taking a bit of punishment here - Allen scoring with strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Allen working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Allen tries for a kimura but Romek is defending well. Romek pushes Allen away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Allen gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Romek felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Romek tries to improve position but can't. Allen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Allen working the ground and pound from side control. Allen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Allen has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Romek is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Allen yanks on the arm and Romek is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Allen.
