Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wampage Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steel comes to the cage accompanied by Kollegah - Bossaura. Johnson has chosen Come Over (feat. Stylo G) as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 37 - 23 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, David Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wampage Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson scores with a sloppy right hand. Steel should have avoided that one.


It looks like David Steel has been cut.
Johnson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
David Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Johnson moves away.
Johnson slips a straight right by Steel.
Johnson looks for the body kick but Steel saw that one coming.
Steel scores with a crisp jab that stopped Johnson in his tracks.
Steel changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Steel dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Johnson. That did some damage!
Johnson slips a straight right by Steel.
Johnson tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Steel throws the left hand but Johnson avoids the punch easily.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Steel lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Johnson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Johnson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Steel lands a jab to the head.
Johnson missing with a left hand there. Steel was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Steel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Johnson.

Johnson moves out of range as Steel strikes.

and Johnson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Steel swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Johnson counters with an outside leg kick.
Steel smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Steel throws a lazy right hand but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Steel connects with a good right hand that stumbles Johnson. Johnson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Johnson throws a shot from downtown. Steel moves away and avoids it.
Steel lands with a straight right. Johnson didn't see that one coming.
Steel throws a leg kick which misses Johnson's front leg but catches the back leg as Johnson tries to avoid it.
Johnson goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Steel thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Johnson if he has to take too many more of those.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Steel rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Johnson counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Johnson, right into the meat.
Steel throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Steel tries to score with a low kick but Johnson moves his leg out of the way.
Johnson now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Johnson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Steel takes a swing at Johnson's ribcage but misses.
Johnson misses with a straight left.
Steel doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Steel.
Steel swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Steel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Johnson was well out of range. Poor timing from Steel.

Johnson lands a left and a right that sends Steel crashing to the canvas! Johnson dives into mount looking to finish!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Steel is trying desperately to improve position.

Johnson controlling the pace for now.
Steel regains half guard.
Steel trying to get back to full guard but Johnson takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Steel working to try and regain half guard.
Johnson avoids the attempt from Steel to control.
Steel really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Johnson controlling the position easily from mount.
Steel is in all sorts of trouble here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Wampage Johnson will probably get the nod.

Steel fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Johnson on the side of the head.
Steel throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
A jab from Steel misses.
Steel ducks right into an uppercut from Johnson.
Steel throws out a leg kick but Johnson moves out of range and Steel only half commits.
A countering left hand to the body from Johnson misses.
Steel swings and misses with a hook to the body.
David Steel is winning the standup battle so far.
Steel lands a body shot.
Steel misses with an uppercut. Johnson saw that one coming.
Steel throws a body kick that misses
and Johnson counters with a nice uppercut.
Steel pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Johnson throws a fast counter high kick but Steel manages to duck under it in time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Johnson makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Steel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson.
It seemed like Johnson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Johnson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Steel misses with an uppercut
and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Steel will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Steel backing away here, and Johnson unleashes a leg kick that just misses.

Johnson connects with a leg kick. Steel looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Johnson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Steel misses with an uppercut.
Johnson flicks out a counter leg kick but Steel steps away.
Steel moves out of range of the body kick.
Steel looks to score with a jab to the body but Johnson is just out of range.
Steel misses with a left hand
and Johnson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Johnson tries to land a front kick but Steel steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Johnson lands a head kick that stumbles Steel and the fighters go to the mat.


Steel is rocked!
Johnson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Oh Steel is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Steel seems to have got his legs back now.

Steel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Steel looking for a sweep. Not yet Steel, not yet.
Steel keeping full guard, as Johnson tries to pass.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Steel wants to sweep but no luck.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Johnson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Steel misses with a few strikes there.
Johnson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Steel lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Steel misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Johnson misses with a looping right.
It looked like Steel was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Johnson.

and Johnson counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Steel!


David Steel's cut is getting worse.
Johnson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Steel tries to get to full guard but Johnson has control of the leg.
Johnson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wampage Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Steel throws a low kick but it's checked well by Johnson.
Steel throws a jab but it's blocked by Johnson.
Johnson slips a straight right by Steel.
Steel throws out a loose jab but Johnson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Steel scores with a shot to the body.
Johnson throws an overhand right that lands on Steel's shoulder, as Steel tries to avoid the shot.
Steel walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Johnson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Johnson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Steel scores with a kick to the midsection.
Johnson missing with a left hand there. Steel was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Steel is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Johnson is keeping busy.

Johnson misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Steel lands a nice uppercut.
Johnson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Johnson cracks Steel with a nice body shot.
Johnson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Johnson throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Johnson lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Steel or not.
Still in the clinch, Johnson scores with a nice short uppercut.

Johnson lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Steel backwards.
Johnson lands a nice shot to the body.
Johnson lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Johnson pushes Steel against the cage. Johnson is working some dirty boxing. Johnson pushes off with a quick right hook! Steel goes down! Steel tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Johnson moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wampage Johnson!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Wampage Johnson waved his t-shirt featuring Urban Fighter's logo in front of the cameras.
