Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Predator Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Koski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burns comes into the arena with Jiu-Jitsu blaring out of the sound system. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Juan Koski was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Predator Burns! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Juan Koski! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burns moves away from the strike by Koski. Burns shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Koski as he jumps to the side. Koski ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Burns moves away. Burns looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A telegraphed right hand from Koski misses the target. Nice defenses there by Koski. Burns throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Koski misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Burns.

A low kick from Koski misses and Burns counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Burns pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Koski is keeping the position for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Burns content to stall in guard here. Burns missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koski is trying to control the position but Burns postures up. Burns content to stall in guard here. Burns has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Burns wants to control from the top but Koski keeps moving. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Burns seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Koski is looking to score with low kicks. Koski throws an overhand right that lands on Burns's shoulder, as Burns tries to avoid the shot. Burns appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Koski keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Burns.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Burns on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Koski lands a jab to the nose. Koski tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Burns moves out of range of the strikes. Koski misses with a head kick.
Juan Koski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Burns moves out of range of the strikes. Koski takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looked like Burns wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Koski is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Koski throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Koski looks to land a right hand but Burns moved out of range. Koski ducks under a wild hook from Burns. Koski throws a one two combo.
Burns with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Koski to score with a decent uppercut. Koski throws a sloppy head kick and Burns moves out of range easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Koski misses with a leg kick. Koski throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Burns dives in and scores a takedown into Koski's guard. Burns not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Koski is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Burns chips away with some ground and pound. Koski controlling Burns's posture. Burns sitting in guard, not really doing much. Burns working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burns showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Burns trying to control but Koski is working from the bottom. Burns slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Koski is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Burns is looking to slow Koski down with leg kicks. Burns displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Koski throws out the jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Juan Koski will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Koski misses with a wild body shot. Burns changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Burns connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Burns gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Koski. Koski lands a nice shot that snaps Burns's head back.
A looping hook to the body misses from Koski. Burns does a little dance to reset his feet. Burns fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Koski to the ground. Burns is now in Koski's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Koski keeping full guard, as Burns tries to pass. Burns slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a sustained period of stalling by Burns.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burns stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Koski swivels though and keeps the full guard. Koski manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Burns manages to get himself to full guard.
Burns looking to hit a scissor sweep but Koski is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Burns is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Koski is aware though and is defending well. Burns is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Burns is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Burns is looking to take a break and control but Koski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Burns slows the pace down in half guard. Burns trying to control the action but Koski is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns stalling. Burns not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Burns is just content to waste time from the top position. Koski takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Burns works a leg free and moves into half guard. Koski won't allow Burns to pass to mount. Burns throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Burns is pressing down on Koski's thigh, looking to free his foot. Koski is holding on for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Burns working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Predator Burns overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Koski trying to control here.
Burns not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Burns stalling. Burns throwing shots but Koski is blocking nicely. Burns winds up and cracks Koski with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Koski tries to roll over but Burns keeps him under control. Burns wants to control but Koski is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Predator Burns dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Burns appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Burns has a takedown stuffed. Koski counters with a body kick. Nice defenses there by Burns. Koski throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Burns. Koski throws a push kick but Burns slaps the foot to one side. Burns gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Koski counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A lazy body kick from Koski and Burns counters with a single leg into guard. Koski didn't expect that. Koski trying to control the position here. Koski avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Burns postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burns trying to control but Koski is working from the bottom. Burns stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Koski swivels though and keeps the full guard. Koski looking for a sweep. Not yet Koski, not yet. Burns trying to control the position from guard on top but Koski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Burns slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Burns uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Koski has time to react. Koski takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Burns darts in looking for a takedown but Koski gets double underhooks and turns Burns into the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Predator Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him. Koski scores with a hook to the body. Burns takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Koski staying out of range there. Burns takes one to the chin there. Burns takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Koski throws a quick inside leg kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Burns jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Koski ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Burns tries for a takedown but Koski circles away easily and Koski counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Koski fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Burns manages to avoid it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Burns stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Koski misses with a hook. Burns ducked under it nicely. Koski scores with a push kick. Excellent takedown into side control there by Burns. Burns has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Koski is looking for a sweep. Burns tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Koski is not content to let Burns control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burns looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Koski is avoiding damage well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Koski is looking to regain half guard here but Burns keeps moving and retains side control. Burns wants to lay and pray for a moment but Koski keeps working. Koski is looking for a sweep. Burns is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. The ground and pound from Burns seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Juan Koski. I think Koski has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
