Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Taylor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Parker! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Parker manages to avoid it. Parker looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Taylor swinging wilding here.
Parker closes this distance looking for a takedown but Taylor circles away. Taylor misses with a few strikes there.
Parker shoots in looking for a takedown. Taylor tries to sprawl out of it but Parker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Taylor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nathan Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Parker. Excellent takedown into side control there by Parker. Taylor parries the strikes from Parker easily there. Parker is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Taylor to escape.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Parker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Taylor pinned against the cage. Taylor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Parker drives through with a takedown into guard. Taylor is breathing heavily. Parker wanted to stand there but Taylor had control of the position. Parker trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parker tries to free his leg and advance position but Taylor is retaining full guard. Parker is stalling in the full guard. Taylor controls Parker momentarily but Parker frees himself. Parker passes Taylor's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Taylor has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Parker is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Taylor blocking the ground and pound attempt from Parker. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taylor wants to get back to full guard. Parker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Taylor keeps working. Taylor is controlling Parker's trapped leg to prevent Parker from advancing to side control. Parker is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! BOOM! Parker connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Parker looking to control but Taylor is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Parker lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Taylor tries to reverse the position but Parker maintains control. Parker throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Parker sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Parker looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Parker goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Taylor turns into him and now he's in Parker's guard.

Taylor punishes Parker's body with a nice straight punch. Parker thows a body shot but no joy. Parker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A combination from Parker does no damage. Taylor keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Taylor thumps Parker with a low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taylor darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Taylor swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Parker counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Taylor! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Parker is in the full mount, landing strikes. Parker looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Parker has control of Taylor's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Taylor regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parker trying to control but he's not successful this time. Parker looking to secure an arm triangle but Taylor defends it well. Parker looking for a guillotine from mount but Taylor is having none of it. Parker is trying to take his opponent's back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Taylor holds of for dear life. Parker controlling the pace for now. Taylor regains half guard. Parker drops an elbow to the side of Taylor's head. Parker is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Parker is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parker is looking for a kimura here.
Taylor wants to get back to his feet. Parker is thwarting Taylor's attempts to control the position. Taylor kicks Parker off and gets back to his feet. Parker fails with the takedown. Nathan Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Parker. Parker swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Parker connects with a good right hand that stumbles Taylor. Taylor circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Parker closes this distance looking for a takedown but Taylor circles away. Nathan Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Parker shoots for a double leg takedown but Taylor sprawls well. He's pushed Parker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Taylor lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. No luck for Parker with that takedown attempt. Taylor keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Parker fails with the takedown and Taylor counters with a lovely straight right hand! Taylor throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Parker looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Taylor is fending him off so far but Parker persists. Nope, Taylor circles away and we're back to standing. Parker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Nathan Taylor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Taylor lands with an uppercut that bounces Parker off the cage and back into rage. Parker pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nathan Taylor will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Parker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Taylor tries to avoid it but Parker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Taylor to the ground. Taylor escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Parker tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Taylor swivels and escapes. Taylor throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Parker. Taylor scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Taylor throws a leg kick but Parker sees it coming and checks it nicely. Parker misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nathan Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Parker. Taylor throws a leg kick but Parker sees it coming and moves out of range. That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Parker is on top in guard.
