PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Jari Byczynski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tuco Salamanca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the ring it seems that Jari Byczynski has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jari Byczynski seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jari Byczynski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 2, fighting out of London, Tuco Salamanca!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Byczynski forces Salamanca back against the ropes and clinches.
Byczynski has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Salamanca is trying to break the clinch but Byczynski is controlling him.
Byczynski works on Salamanca's body with a couple of short punches.
Salamanca blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Salamanca is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee is keeping an eye on Byczynski - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Byczynski just misses with a elbow thrown towards Salamanca's brow.

Salamanca's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Byczynski breaks the clinch.
Byczynski tries to bum rush Salamanca with a series of wild strikes but Salamanca uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Salamanca steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Byczynski.
Salamanca pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Salamanca misses the jab.
Byczynski dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Byczynski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Salamanca swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Salamanca throws a looping overhand right but Byczynski ducks down to avoid it.

Salamanca moves out of range of the strikes.
Tuco Salamanca seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Salamanca cracks Byczynski with a good jab.


It looks like Jari Byczynski has been cut.
Salamanca is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Salamanca throws a right hand that misses
and Byczynski counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Salamanca rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Byczynski moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Salamanca misses the shot to the body.
Salamanca fails to land with a series of punches.
Salamanca pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Byczynski ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jari Byczynski will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Byczynski feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Salamancas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Byczynski throws out a loose jab but Salamanca uses good head movement to avoid it.
Byczynski blocks a head kick by Salamanca.
Salamanca misses with an uppercut.
Byczynski swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The crowd cheers as Salamanca lands an impressive looking overhand right. Byczynski doesn't seem phased though.


Byczynski is rocked!
A low kick from Byczynski is predictable there
and Salamanca counters with a big left hand that crumples Byczynski! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tuco Salamanca!
Tuco Salamanca spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
