The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ignazio throws a nice looking combination but Clements bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ignazio closes this distance looking for a takedown but Clements circles away.

Clements really is a fat lump.
Clements fails in his attempt to clinch.
Despite the aggression on Ignazio's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Ignazio is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Clements is defending well.
Clements is trying to pull guard but Ignazio turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Clements changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ignazio fights it off and pushes away nicely.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Clements accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Clements makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Ignazio wants to control the position but Clements says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Ignazio is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Clements seems to be working for a kimura but Ignazio defends the submission attempt.
Ignazio wants to stand back up but Clements manages to pass into side control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ignazio can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ignazio tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Guy Clements will probably get the nod.

Clements moves into the clinch successfully.
Ignazio tries for a takedown. No joy.

Ignazio tightens his grip and picks Clements up, before dumping him to the ground. Clements manages to land in guard.

Ignazio tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Clements fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ignazio sprawls well initially but Clements persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ignazio wants to control but Clements is keeping busy.

Clements wants to work for an arm triangle but Ignazio is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
