Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Shelby Wyatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Harry Hirsch!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wyatt slaps away a takedown attempt from Hirsch, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Wyatt gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hirsch stands up over Wyatt, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Wyatt wants to stand up but Hirsch is controlling him.

Wyatt looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hirsch throwing strikes from guard but Wyatt blocks nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hirsch looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Hirsch chips away with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hirsch connects with a couple of short punches.
Hirsch prevents Wyatt from getting back to his feet.

Hirsch postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Hirsch throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wyatt works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Wyatt wants to control but Hirsch passes easily into half guard.
Hirsch takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Hirsch is thwarting Wyatt's attempts to control the position.
Hirsch wants to pass to mount but Wyatt is defending the position.
Nice strikes from Hirsch there.
Wyatt moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Wyatt is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hirsch is controlling him.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hirsch scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Wyatt is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hirsch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wyatt swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hirsch avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hirsch lands a couple of digs.

Wyatt is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hirsch is aware though and is defending well.
Hirsch not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Wyatt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hirsch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hirsch manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wyatt is breathing heavily.
Wyatt pulls Hirsch in close to prevent any damage.
Hirsch postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hirsch not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wyatt keeping moving, preventing Hirsch from controlling successfully.

Hirsch lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hirsch slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harry Hirsch dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Hirsch darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Wyatt looking for submissions off his back.
Hirsch wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wyatt keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wyatt tries to kick Hirsch off but Hirsch keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Hirsch lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Hirsch working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Hirsch has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Hirsch tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Wyatt is squirming around, avoiding Hirsch's attempts to control the action.
You get the feeling that Wyatt really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Wyatt tries to lock up and control but Hirsch gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Wyatt could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wyatt is desperately trying to improve his position but Hirsch has a good base and remains in mount.
A nice elbow there by Hirsch.
Wyatt flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Hirsch lands with some strikes.


It looks like Shelby Wyatt has been cut.
Wyatt in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.


Wyatt is rocked!
Hirsch lands a big elbow - Wyatt is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Wyatt is forced to tap out!
