Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Arman Shaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glass Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arman Shaker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Glass Joe! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaker throws a lazy uppercut
and Joe counters with a nice uppercut. Joe lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
We've been informed that Joe has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Shaker misses with a left hand and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. We've been hearing reports that Shaker has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Shaker jabs at Joe's body. Joe walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Shaker scores with a jab. Joe staying out of range there. A jab from Shaker misses. A slapping leg kick lands for Shaker.
Shaker shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Shaker's jab looks to have found its range, popping Joe under the eye. This has been an exciting period of action! Shaker lands a nice hook to Joe's body. Joe takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shaker misses with a right hand and Joe counters with a lovely straight right hand! Shaker throws a half hearted mid kick. Joe wants to counter the offense by Shaker and move into the clinch position. Left hook, right uppercut from Shaker. Joe checks a low kick from Shaker. Joe thinks about the counter body kick. Shaker lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Shaker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Shaker misses with a hook
and Joe decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shaker's guard. Shaker controls Joe momentarily but Joe frees himself. Joe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Shaker is keeping the position for now. Shaker avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joe throwing strikes but missing. Joe looking to sit in guard and control but Shaker gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Joe controls Shaker momentarily but Shaker frees himself. Shaker sitting in guard, not really doing much. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shaker is working Joe over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaker gets to his feet. Joe looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Joe fails with a takedown attempt. Joe scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Shaker throws a leg kick and Joe counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Joe. Joe with a flurry of punches that miss. Joe missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Shaker is trying to control the position but Joe postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shaker working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Joe. Joe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Joe throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Shaker works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Joe landing some decent shots from guard. Joe postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Joe looking to sit in guard and control but Shaker gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Shaker slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Joe wants to hit a switch here but Shaker passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Joe there! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Arman Shaker dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Joe walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Shaker tries to land a leg kick but Joe saw it coming and moves away.

Shaker misses the jab. And Joe tries to counter it with a takedown but Shaker pushes his down on his head and steps out. Shaker is looking to score with low kicks. Shaker throws the kick towards the body but Joe avoids it. Joe looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaker scores with a nice head shot. Shaker connects with a body shot that sends Joe's belly button to the back. Joe uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shaker.

Shaker throws a jab when Joe was well out of range. Joe uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shaker.
Arman Shaker is winning the standup battle so far. Shaker stuffs the takedown. Shaker missing with a left hand there. Joe was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Shaker misses with an uppercut
and Joe counters with a nice double leg into side control. Shaker won't be happy with that. Joe throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Shaker works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shaker keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Shaker avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Joe. Joe not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Joe connects with a nice short shot to Shaker's temple. Joe not landing any meaningful shots this time. Shaker wants to get back to his feet. Joe winds up and cracks Shaker with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Joe is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shaker is looking to get back to is feet but Joe passes into side control.
Joe working away. Joe is working Shaker over with some ground and pound from side control. Shaker manages to work his way to half guard, despite Joe's best efforts. Joe looks to land a strike but Shaker avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Joe throws an elbow that misses. Shaker uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Joe's guard. Nice move by Shaker! Shaker wants to get up but he can't break Joe's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joe is trying to keep Shaker in close.
Joe looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Shaker puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Shaker is looking to stall here but Joe recovers full guard. Shaker pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Joe is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Shaker is working hard here to advance position. Shaker looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Shaker wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shaker is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shaker misses with the body kick and Joe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Shaker drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Joe tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Shaker content just to control the position here. Joe working to try and regain half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Joe strikes from the bottom but Shaker passes into mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Shaker has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Joe regains half guard. Shaker performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Glass Joe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shaker's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Arman Shaker. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shaker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
