Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tuan Mcintyre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shoda Murata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tuan Mcintyre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shoda Murata!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Murata closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Mcintyre is defending against the submission attempts here by Murata.

Murata is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Murata jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mcintyre is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mcintyre and Murata has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Murata has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Mcintyre really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Murata moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mcintyre has worked his arm free - good work by Mcintyre!
Murata passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Mcintyre!

Murata looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Mcintyre tries to lock up and control but Murata gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Mcintyre makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mcintyre.

Mcintyre throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Mcintyre looking to hit a scissor sweep but Murata is one step ahead there.

Mcintyre has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Murata off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Murata fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mcintyre sprawls well initially but Murata persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Mcintyre flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Murata is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mcintyre has managed to free his arm - good work.

Murata is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mcintyre doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Murata.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcintyre is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mcintyre wants to get back to full guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Murata feints and as Mcintyre raises his hands in defense, Murata changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Murata pushes down on Mcintyre's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Mcintyre is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Murata's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Murata's back!

Mcintyre is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Murata has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Murata tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Murata manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mcintyre stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Murata to get to his feet.

Mcintyre gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Murata to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Mcintyre lands a decent punch to the body there.

Mcintyre escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Murata gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Murata slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Murata goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mcintyre rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Murata's guard! Nice work there by Mcintyre!
Murata looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mcintyre is one step ahead there.

Murata working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mcintyre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mcintyre manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mcintyre makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Mcintyre wants to get up but he can't break Murata's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Mcintyre thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Mcintyre drops back looking for a leg! Murata is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Murata manages to kick Mcintyre off! Mcintyre jumps back into Murata's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mcintyre lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Mcintyre wanted to stand there but Murata had control of the position.

Murata is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Murata looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mcintyre lands a couple of sideways elbows.

Mcintyre moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Mcintyre has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Murata is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mcintyre.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mcintyre is trying to improve his position.

Murata tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Murata has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Murata is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mcintyre has escaped the position, nice work there.
Mcintyre tries to escape but Murata is in control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mcintyre is looking to regain half guard here but Murata keeps moving and retains side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Shoda Murata.
Well Murata has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
