Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bootsie Fitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mamadou Sakho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mamadou Sakho has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bootsie Fitz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mamadou Sakho!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Eddie Farnsworth and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fitz looking to score a takedown here. Sakho is defending well but Fitz drives through and ends up in Sakho's guard.
Fitz pushing down on Sakho's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Fitz takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fitz prevents Sakho from improving his position.

Fitz is looking for a kimura here.
Fitz wants to control but Sakho is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sakho tries to roll over but Fitz keeps him under control.
Fitz works his foot free and advances to mount.

Fitz looking to secure an arm triangle but Sakho defends it well.

Fitz is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sakho can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Fitz stands up from mount. Strange move.
Fitz fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Fitz shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Fitz is breathing heavily.
Fitz sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Sakho defending well though.
Fitz wants to free his trapped foot but Sakho is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fitz seems to be looking for submissions.
Sakho has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fitz is working away from the top position though.
Sakho might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fitz haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Fitz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sakho keeps working.
Sakho is looking for a sweep. Fitz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Fitz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sakho with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Fitz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sakho doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fitz.

Sakho wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Fitz.
Fitz controlling the position easily from mount.
Fitz is trying to take his opponent's back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sakho tries to reverse the position but Fitz maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bootsie Fitz dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Fitz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fitz blocks a jab.
Fitz shoots in looking for a takedown but Sakho manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fitz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bootsie Fitz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fitz fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Sakho throws a right and a left that both miss.
Fitz misses with a double jab.
Fitz shoots for a double leg takedown but Sakho sprawls well. He's pushed Fitz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bootsie Fitz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sakho shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fitz as he jumps to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fitz drives through and clinches with Sakho against the cage.
Sakho lands an elbow inside that Fitz shrugs off.


It looks like Bootsie Fitz has been cut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Sakho obliges.
Fitz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sakho can do to turn this around?
Sakho creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Fitz's defenses.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sakho tries to throw a body punch but Fitz avoids it by throwing Sakho back against the cage.
Fitz's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Bootsie Fitz's cut is getting worse.
Fitz prevents a body shot from Sakho.
Sakho comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sakho tries to work over Fitz's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Sakho working aggressively here.
Fitz takes an elbow to the forehead.


Bootsie Fitz's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Sakho gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Sakho lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


Jeez, Bootsie Fitz's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Sakho tries to land a knee to the head but Fitz blocks with his arms.
Sakho lands a knee to the body.
Sakho stalling in the clinch but Fitz improves position.
Fitz takes an elbow to the temple.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bootsie Fitz's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
