PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Monty Hudson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eiji Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suzuki has chosen Fight with Dream as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Monty Hudson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Monty Hudson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eiji Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suzuki throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Hudson counters with a single leg into guard. Suzuki didn't expect that.

Suzuki manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Suzuki lands an elbow inside that Hudson shrugs off.

Suzuki tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
As Suzuki looks to move away, Hudson throws a big counter combo but Suzuki just gets out of the way.

Hudson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hudson is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hudson won't allow Suzuki to get back to his feet.

Suzuki wants to stand and escape but Hudson is having none of it.

Suzuki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hudson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hudson pulls Suzuki in close to his closed guard and prevents Suzuki from doing any damage or advancing position.
Hudson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Suzuki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hudson drops back looking for a leg! Suzuki is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Suzuki manages to kick Hudson off! Hudson jumps back into Suzuki's guard.

A close round but Eiji Suzuki will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
