PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Eusebio Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blazed King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eusebio Marsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Blazed King!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King gets the takedown into side control.

Marsh sneaks out the side door and pushes King away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

King closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - King lands in his opponent's guard.
Marsh looking to hit a scissor sweep but King is one step ahead there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
King would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
King pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Marsh is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marsh is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King looking to sit in guard and control but Marsh gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Marsh scoring with some ground and pound.
King wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marsh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Marsh working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Marsh not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Marsh has gone for a leg lock! King slips out almost immediately though and dives into Marsh's guard.

King trying to control the position from guard on top but Marsh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
King stopping the sweep attempt from Marsh.
Marsh looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as King accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Marsh seems keen to control King's posture.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

King throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Marsh tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. King is in Marsh's guard.
King trying to control but Marsh is working from the bottom.
Marsh is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Marsh wants to sweep but no luck.
Marsh lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

King is trying to keep Marsh in close.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
King trying to strike off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Eusebio Marsh will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



King scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Marsh controlling the position for now.
King is trying to control. Marsh wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

King looking for a submission but Marsh manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marsh looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
King trying to control but Marsh is working from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

King manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Marsh on his heels. He'll look to pass Marsh's guard now, I'm sure.

Marsh pushes King off and gets back to his feet.
King tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Marsh counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
King wants to sweep but no luck.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Marsh drops back looking for a leg! King is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and King manages to kick Marsh off! Marsh jumps back into King's guard.
Marsh won't allow King to sweep him here.
King is breathing heavily.

Marsh drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marsh jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
King has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Marsh has passed into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Marsh lands an elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
King is looking for a sweep.
King is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Marsh is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
King is trying to stand but he's just given Marsh his back.

Marsh working for a choke but King is defending well.

Marsh has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Marsh has managed to slip his arm under King's chin. This could be all over... yep, King is tapping out! Submission win for Marsh.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Eusebio Marsh!
