Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Winford Odom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Motts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Winford Odom has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Winford Odom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Motts!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Motts looks to score with a jab to the body but Odom is just out of range.
Odom throws a left and a right that both miss

and Motts counters with a shoot takedown. Odom fights it but they end up in guard.
Odom avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Odom keeping full guard, as Motts tries to pass.
Motts slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Motts pushing down on Odom's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Motts looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Odom with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Motts controlling the action here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Motts not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Odom won't allow Motts to pass to mount.
Odom taking some punishment here, with Motts in his half guard.
Odom wants to get back to his feet.
Motts seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Motts takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Motts closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Odom to the mat! Odom manages to get full guard.
Motts controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Motts works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Motts passes to side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Motts is chipping away with strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Motts dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Motts misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Odom.
Motts blocks a head kick by Odom.

Motts closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Motts gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Motts looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Odom is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mark Motts has got the better of the ground game so far.
Odom manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Motts manages to get himself to full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Odom is looking to work some ground and pound but Motts has wrist control.
Odom wanted to stand there but Motts had control of the position.
Odom is working Motts over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Motts is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Motts passes easily into side control. Nice work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Motts is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Odom will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Motts's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Motts showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Motts shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Motts is figuring out what he wants to do next.

More stalling from Motts.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Motts looks to throw the jab but Odom is out of range.

Motts fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Odom to the ground. Motts is now in Odom's guard.
Odom really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Motts is stalling in the full guard.
Motts is looking to pass into half guard but Odom pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Odom is in guard.


That's three minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Motts is on top in guard.

Odom will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Motts sitting in guard here, content to control.
Odom is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Motts takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Motts is continuing to stall.
Winford Odom has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Mark Motts comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Motts winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
