Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jake Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aron Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a poor cross that misses
and Karlsson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Smith definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Smith has a hand on Karlsson's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Karlsson takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Karlsson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Smith is looking to get to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith has left one of his arms exposed and Karlsson doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Smith screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
