Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Motts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Joe! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Motts tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Joe was well out of range. Poor timing from Motts. Joe misses with a leg kick. Joe scoring well with a low kick there.
Joe throws a leg kick and Motts decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Joe's guard. Motts is looking to work some ground and pound but Joe has wrist control. Motts throws a big elbow that misses. Motts trying to control but Joe is working from the bottom. Joe looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Motts postures up in Joe's guard and throws a big left but Joe blocks it. Motts trying to control but Joe is working from the bottom. Joe scores with a short punch from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joe will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Joe gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Motts being controlled here momentarily. Motts lands a couple of decent looking shots. Motts in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Joe trying to keep a closed guard but Motts is proving a slippery customer.
Motts wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving. Motts preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joe is trying to control the position but Motts postures up. Motts makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Joe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Joe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Motts's guard. Joe's corner is telling him to maintain position. Motts pulls Joe in close to prevent any damage. Motts is breathing heavily. Joe is pushing down on Motts's leg trying to pass to half guard. Motts is fighting to maintain full guard but Joe has managed to sneak the leg through. Motts is trying to get back to full guard. Motts is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Joe is trying to control the action in half guard but Motts is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Motts is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Joe wants to control but Motts is keeping him busy. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Joe trying to pass the guard but Motts defending well. Joe drops an elbow to the side of Motts's head. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Motts is trying to get back to full guard. Joe is looking to take a break and control but Motts is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Motts is looking to control Joe's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Motts avoid being mounted?
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Joe swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Joe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Motts manages to avoid it. Motts tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Joe was well out of range. Poor timing from Motts. Joe looks to land a left hand but Motts moved out of range nicely. It looked like Motts was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Joe. Joe throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Joe shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Motts tried to score with a low kick but Joe checks it. Joe throws a body shot but no joy. Joe just misses with a punch to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mark Motts will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Joe throws a right and a left that Motts avoids nicely. Motts appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Joe misses with a wild body shot. Motts gets the takedown into side control. Joe is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Motts throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Joe is refusing to be controlled, as Motts sits in half guard. Motts trying to control from Joe's half guard. Joe has other ideas though and has regained full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Motts slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Joe tries to land a sweep but no joy. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joe has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Motts content to stall in guard here. Joe trying to keep a closed guard but Motts is proving a slippery customer.
Motts works a leg free and moves into half guard. Joe manages to get to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Motts trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Joe lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Joe makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Joe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Motts swivels though and keeps the full guard. Motts keeping moving, preventing Joe from controlling successfully. Motts has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Motts is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joe stands up over Motts, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Motts keeping moving, preventing Joe from controlling successfully.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Joe Joe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Joe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Motts moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Joe ducks under a wild hook from Motts. Joe shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Motts but Motts pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Motts moves away from the strike by Joe. A little feinted left hand from Motts on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Joe misses with a straight right. Motts throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Joe wants to slow Motts down by chopping away at his legs. Joe misses with a leg kick and Motts counters with a single leg into guard. Joe didn't expect that. Motts is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Joe is trying to keep Motts in close.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Motts wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Motts dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Joe shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Motts napping and manages to drive through into side control! Motts is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Joe trying to pass the guard but Motts defending well. Motts on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Motts tries to get out of the position. Motts blocking the ground and pound attempt from Joe. Motts is not content to let Joe control the position. Motts is positioning himself well to prevent Joe advancing to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Joe seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Motts has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Joe is working away from the top position though. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Motts is refusing to be controlled, as Joe sits in half guard. Joe missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Nice strikes from Joe there. Motts is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Joe is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Motts is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Joe working the head and body with strikes. Joe is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Joe tries to pass the half guard into mount. Motts knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Motts wants to improve his position but Joe is controlling well.
Mark Motts overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Joe thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Motts's head.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Motts throws a body punch but Joe moves out of range. Joe throws a body shot but no joy. Motts shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Joe manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Motts trying to control the position from guard on top but Joe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Joe is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Motts is looking for a sweep. Joe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Motts is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Joe pulls his head out easily. Joe not doing much here.
Motts knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Joe on the ground. Motts gets full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Motts controls Joe momentarily but Joe frees himself. Motts is looking for a triangle but Joe pushes his legs off easily.
Joe trying to control but Motts is working from the bottom. Joe wants to pass the guard but Motts is keeping the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Motts keeping moving, preventing Joe from controlling successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! Joe Joe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Motts has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Mark Motts! After the fight, Mark Motts was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
