Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jodi Joe Fjera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samu Paelinck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fjera comes to the cage accompanied by Tito & Tarantula . Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Samu Paelinck enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paelinck fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fjera sprawls well initially but Paelinck persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fjera has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Paelinck drops an elbow to the side of Fjera's head.

Paelinck has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Fjera is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Paelinck uses his free foot to push down on Fjera's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Fjera.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fjera is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Fjera tries to lock up and control but Paelinck gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
My spies in Strikey McFisty's Combat Emporium inform me that Paelinck has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Paelinck fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Paelinck lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Fjera! Paelinck sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Fjera and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Samu Paelinck!
Samu Paelinck took some time post fight to say the following; 'Look at the text from our last fight. I told you to retire already. Get lost, kid. '.
