PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jon Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dulles Bush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnes comes to the cage accompanied by ATL. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jon Barnes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dulles Bush!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bush moves into the clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Bush tries to circle away but Barnes has him pinned against the cage.
Bush blocking some punches.
Bush looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Barnes is trying to break the clinch but Bush has him pressed against the cage.
Bush avoiding damage as Barnes throws knees to the body.
Bush looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Barnes has a couple of punches blocked by Bush.
Bush wants to get back to striking at distance but Barnes won't allow it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barnes tries to land a knee to the head but Bush blocks with his arms.

A punch lands to the side of Barnes 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Barnes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Barnes on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Bush gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Bush looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Bush lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Barnes throws an elbow but it misses.
With the fighters up against the cage, Barnes throws an elbow but misses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bush lands a left hand.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Barnes.
Barnes throws an elbow that misses.
Barnes is trying to stall.
Barnes struggles to land a body shot inside as Bush controls his hands.
Barnes throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Barnes is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Bush wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Barnes tries a body shot but Bush blocks it.
Bush tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
A frustrated look appears on Barnes's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Barnes throws a punch but it's blocked by Bush.
Bush is trying to break free.

Bush escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Barnes looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Bush lands with a hook. Barnes tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Bush stuffs the takedown attempt from Barnes. Barnes gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Barnes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bush slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.


Barnes is rocked!

Bush feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Barnes sprawling to the canvas! Barnes rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Bush finish him?!
Oh Barnes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Bush breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Bush lands a big uppercut and Barnes crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Barnes looks OK. Bush waves Barnes back to his feet!

Bush closes the distance and pushes Barnes back into the cage.
Barnes throws an elbow that misses.
Bush wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Barnes has him pressed against the cage.
Bush is trying to break free.
Bush lands with a light punch inside.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Barnes just misses with a elbow thrown towards Bush's brow.
Barnes seems to have got his legs back now.
A body shot lands from Barnes.
Bush lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Barnes backwards.
Bush on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Barnes using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Bush has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Bush wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Barnes creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dulles Bush dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Bush lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Bush moves into the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Barnes.


It looks like Dulles Bush has been cut.
Barnes is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Bush is keeping busy.
Barnes lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Barnes has Bush pressed against the cage, preventing Bush from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
With the fighters up against the cage, Barnes throws an elbow but misses.
Bush avoiding damage as Barnes throws knees to the body.

Barnes is trying to pull guard but Bush has him pressed against the cage.

Barnes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bush connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Bush fakes the body blow, causing Barnes to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Barnes goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dulles Bush!
A relieved looking Dulles Bush thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
