Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elroy Kennedy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Curtis Hill! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hill connects with a looping right hand.
Hill just misses with a punch to the body.
Kennedy half committed to a counter leg kick. Hill throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Kennedy's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Hill dives in looking to finish as Kennedy flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Hill's strikes! Hill is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Kennedy's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Kennedy was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Curtis Hill! Curtis Hill decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
