Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Gatsby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Get Low kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin misses with a hook. Gatsby ducked under it nicely.

and Griffin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Joe Gatsby has been cut.

and Griffin counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Gatsby looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Griffin's corner calls for a 1-2. Griffin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Gatsby counters with a shoot takedown. Griffin fights it but they end up in guard.
Griffin thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Griffin wants to sweep here but Gatsby controlling him for the moment.

Gatsby is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Griffin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Griffin has escaped and now he's on top!
Gatsby is looking for a triangle but Griffin pushes his legs off easily.
Gatsby had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Griffin defends it easily.
Gatsby is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gatsby seems to be working for a kimura but Griffin defends the submission attempt.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Griffin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gatsby takes a swing at Griffin's ribcage but misses.
Griffin lands a left and a right that send Gatsby crashing to the mat, dazed. Griffin thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Gatsby misses with an uppercut
and Griffin rattles Gatsby with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Gatsby tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Griffin dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Gatsby stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Peter Griffin!
Peter Griffin spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
