Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maki Pulu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kylla Ei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pulu comes to the cage accompanied by Alive. Kylla Ei will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maki Pulu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
34 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kylla Ei! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pulu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pulu checks a leg kick nicely. Ei closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ei is trying to stall.
Pulu struggles to land a body shot inside as Ei controls his hands.
Pulu lands a nice uppercut. Ei lands a good knee to the midsection. Pulu won't want to take too many of those. Ei lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Pulu backwards. Our sources have told us that Pulu has been working on his elbows in the gym. A right handed body shot lands from Pulu.
Pulu breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ei lands a jab to the head.
Pulu fails to land the takedown. Pulu goes for a double leg but Ei avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ei continues to drive forward. Ei lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. We've been informed that Ei has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Ei moves out of range of the body kick from Pulu.
Ei flicks out a counter leg kick but Pulu steps away. Ei throws a nice inside leg kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ei throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Maki Pulu has been cut. Pulu loads up on a big right hand but Ei slips the punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pulu takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Ei stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Ei forces Pulu back against the cage and clinches. Ei blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Ei is pushing Pulu up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Ei is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Pulu drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ei pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maki Pulu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ei is looking to slow Pulu down with leg kicks. Pulu throws a right and a left that Ei avoids nicely. Ei moves out of range as Pulu throws a body kick.
Ei moves into the clinch. Pulu takes a shot to the head. Ei using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Pulu has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pulu tries to work over Ei's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Ei trying to land knees to the body.
Pulu fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Ei is pushing Pulu up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pulu lands a nice uppercut. Ei misses with a punch to the body.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Pulu. Pulu pushes Ei back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Ei blocks a body shot from Pulu. Pulu goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Ei lands a knee to the body.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Pulu. Ei blocking some punches.
Ei throws a head punch that misses. Ei throws a head punch that misses. Pulu softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Pulu blocks an uppercut.
Pulu misses with a hook from the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ei lands a hook that snaps the head of Pulu backwards. Pulu breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pulu throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Ei throws a leg kick but Pulu checks it. Pulu fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ei has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Ei keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Pulu tries a head kick but it misses.
Ei tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Pulu throws out a loose jab but Ei uses good head movement to avoid it. Pulu attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Ei on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Ei slips under a jab from Pulu. A big right from Pulu misses. Pulu throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ei on the side of the head. Ei throws a leg kick but Pulu sees it coming and checks it nicely. Pulu misses the jab. Nice takedown defense from Ei. No joy for Pulu on that attempt. Ei shapes to counter with a head kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pulu misses the shot to the body. Ei misses with a low kick. It looked like Pulu was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Ei. Pulu throws a body shot but no joy. Ei thumps Pulu with a low kick. Ei avoids a kick to the body.
A head kick misses from Ei. Ei lands a nice looking kick to the body. Pulu takes a step back to recover. Pulu looks to land a right hand but Ei moved out of range. Pulu motions for Ei to come forward. Pulu throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Ei swinging wildly here.
Ei tries to score with a low kick but Pulu moves his leg out of the way. Pulu swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Pulu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kylla Ei is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pulu misses with a hook
and Ei counters with an inside leg kick. A leg kick checked by Ei. Pulu misses with an uppercut
and Ei counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Ei throws a leg kick which misses Pulu's front leg but catches the back leg as Pulu tries to avoid it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kylla Ei dominated that round. The cut man is working on Maki Pulu's cut. That's time! Pulu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Pulu avoids the head kick by Ei.
A little feinted left hand from Pulu on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Ei checks a low kick from Pulu. Pulu on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Ei lands with a slapping head kick. Ei slaps away a takedown attempt from Pulu, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ei bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pulu's head.
Maki Pulu's cut is getting worse. Pulu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ei lets loose with a powerful body kick. Pulu will feel that in the morning. Ei has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ei misses with a double jab.
Pulu is looking to counter punch. Ei checks a leg kick. Pulu is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Ei's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pulu falls off balance throwing a combination
and Ei counters with a one-two to the body. Ei buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pulu takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Pulu feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Eis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
That's one minute gone in the round. Pulu misses with a kick to the body.
Pulu throws a nice outside leg kick. Pulu lands a nice looking body shot.
Pulu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ei connects with a solid leg kick. Maki Pulu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pulu throws a body kick that misses. Pulu misses with a looping left. Ei tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Pulu is able to avoid easily. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Ei with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Pulu throws a body shot but no joy. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ei! But no joy. Pulu lands with a shot to the body. Ei tries to clinch but Pulu moves out of range. Pulu looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Pulu tries to land a front kick but Ei steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Ei doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Pulu fails with a takedown attempt. Pulu takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ei moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ei lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pulu has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pulu and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Ei gets caught napping as Pulu dives in and scores a takedown. Ei manages to retain guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Pulu prevents Ei from getting back to his feet. Pulu is looking to advance position but Ei has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ei trying to control but he's not successful this time. Pulu can't escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pulu gets back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pulu is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ei pulls his head out easily. Pulu looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Pulu wants to get back to full guard. Ei controlling the pace. Pulu wants to improve his position but Ei is controlling well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ei controlling the pace. Pulu moves into full guard.
Pulu working for submissions but it's allowed Ei to get to half guard.
Ei is thwarting Pulu's attempts to control the position. Ei decides to stand up. Pulu fails with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kylla Ei showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Maki Pulu's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Pulu misses with a leg kick. Ei defending well as Pulu loads up on a big left hand. As Pulu backs off Ei throws a huge counter combo but Pulu manages to avoid it all. The fighters circling - Pulu throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Ei blocks a head kick by Pulu.
Ei lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Pulu misses with a body shot.
Pulu throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Ei takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ei fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Pulu checks it well. Pulu looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Ei throws a nice head kick!
Pulu misses with a looping right. A slapping body kick lands there for Ei. Ei blocks the body kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ei misses with a low kick as Pulu jumps back. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ei throws a leg kick but Pulu sees it coming and checks it nicely. Pulu tries a head kick but it misses.
Kylla Ei seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ei avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Ei ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ei lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Pulu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Pulu backing away here, and Ei unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Pulu tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. The fight stays on the outside here - Ei looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A little feinted left hand from Pulu on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Pulu walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Pulu avoids a low kick by using good footwork. An attempted straight right counter from Pulu misses the target. Ei connects with an inside leg kick. Pulu misses with a head kick.
Ei feints a counter leg kick. Pulu takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Pulu closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ei quickly recovers to half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ei is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Maki Pulu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Pulu has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Pulu can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ei is looking to escape. Pulu is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ei is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Ei is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pulu is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Ei has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Ei! Ei must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Pulu looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ei is one step ahead there. Ei advances to half guard. Pulu looking for submissions off his back. Pulu wants to improve his position but Ei is controlling well.
Pulu wants to get back to full guard but Ei has passed into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pulu manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Ei pushes Pulu off looking to stand but Pulu dives back in and keeps control.
Kylla Ei is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Pulu has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Ei defend it? Pulu steps over the head and cranks it - Ei is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Pulu!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Maki Pulu! An out of breath Maki Pulu thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
