Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between DJ Willams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Nunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, DJ Willams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Nunes! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Willams tries to land a leg kick but Nunes saw it coming and moves away.
Willams takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Nunes plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Willams on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Nunes. Nunes obviously looking to wear him down.
Nunes wants to clinch up but Willams keeps it at a distance. Nunes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nunes lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Nunes rushes Willams and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Nunes controlling the action here for a moment.
Willams is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Nunes gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Nunes is stalling here.
Nunes comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like DJ Willams has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nunes scores a nice knee to the body.
Nunes lands a nice knee to the body. Willams has a couple of punches blocked by Nunes.
Nunes stops a takedown attempt from Willams.
Nunes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nunes clinches up with Willams and pushes him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Willams tries to pull guard but Nunes holds him up against the cage and eventually Willams drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for DJ Willams. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nunes breaks the clinch.
Antonio Nunes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Willams drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Willams is breathing heavily. Nunes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Willams is controlling him. Nunes is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nunes keeping moving, preventing Willams from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Willams is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nunes can do anything to dispel that myth.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Willams misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nunes dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Willams. That did some damage! Willams looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nunes is fending him off so far but Willams persists. Nope, Nunes circles away and we're back to standing. Willams takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Nunes lands a nice leg kick that just misses Willams's sensitive parts. Nunes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nunes moves into range and clinches up with Willams.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Willams is looking to break free of the clinch but Nunes has double underhooks. Nunes dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Willams wants to break free but Nunes has control.
Nunes will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Willams up against the cage. Nunes unloads a knee to the mid-section. Willams lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Nunes breaks from the clinch.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Nunes lands a knee to the body.
Nunes prevents Willams from breaking the clinch. Willams is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Nunes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A punch combination from Nunes misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nunes closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Willams fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Nunes connects with a knee to the head.
Nunes breaks the clinch.
Nunes lands with a slapping head kick. Willams takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Willams keeps the fight on the outside. Willams scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Nunes is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Willams is controlling him well. Willams is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nunes is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Willams content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Antonio Nunes dominated that round. The cut man is working on DJ Willams's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Willams tries to keep at a distance but Nunes has taken the fight into the clinch. Willams tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Nunes lands a nice elbow. Willams has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Nunes is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Nunes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice sprawl there from Nunes as Willams shoots in. Nice takedown defense from Nunes. No joy for Willams on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for DJ Willams. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nunes clinches up with Willams and pushes him back against the cage. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Willams gets control of Nunes's arms and successfully pulls guard. Willams will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nunes wants to stand but Willams is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Willams trying to control the position.
Nunes won't allow Willams to sweep him here. Nunes wants to get up but he can't break Willams's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Willams takes a kick to the side of the head. Nunes tries to clinch up but Willams circles away and keeps his distance. Willams gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Nunes landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Willams goes for a takedown in the clinch but Nunes prevents it.
A bit of stalling here from Nunes.
Nunes misses with a knee to the head. Willams jumps guard but Nunes stands there with Willams around his waist. Willams gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Willams jumps guard and drags Nunes to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Willams throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Nunes wants to stand but Willams is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nunes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Willams is adopting a defensive guard. Willams is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Nunes rolls with it to try and escape but Willams cranks on the arm and Nunes is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
