Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mauro Burnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corwin Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valentine comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I Get Knocked Down kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Mauro Burnett has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mauro Burnett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Corwin Valentine! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Burnett has Valentine up against the cage in a clinch.
Burnett pulls guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valentine lands a couple of elbows. Valentine is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Valentine drops back, looking for a kneebar! Burnett looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Burnett looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Burnett!
Valentine has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Valentine is trying to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Burnett trying to control the position but Valentine is working away. Burnett wants to stand but Valentine has his arm trapped.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valentine struggling a bit here. Burnett just content to control the position. Valentine told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Burnett wants to lay and pray for a moment but Valentine keeps working. Valentine can't do much from the bottom here. Burnett tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Burnett working away. Valentine is looking for a sweep. Burnett is looking to take a break and control but Valentine is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. A lull in the action here as Burnett stalls from top position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burnett moves into the clinch successfully.
Valentine works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Valentine content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Valentine throwing strikes but missing. Valentine lands a couple of digs. Burnett really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burnett trying to strike off his back.

Burnett trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Valentine wants to pass the guard but Burnett is keeping the position. Valentine throws a big right hand that misses. Valentine is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Burnett preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Valentine stands up over Burnett, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Burnett is rocked! Valentine is working Burnett over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Oh Burnett is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Valentine postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Burnett covers up, he's hurt! Valentine keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Valentine and the ref steps in to end the fight! Valentine can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Corwin Valentine! During a confident post fight interview, Corwin Valentine thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
