Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cristobal Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bendo Southern (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bendo Southern is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cristobal Salazar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bendo Southern! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Salazar is defended easily by Southern. Salazar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Salazar fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Southern to the ground. Salazar is now in Southern's guard. Southern pushes Salazar off and scrambles back to his feet.
Southern misses with a straight left. It looked like Salazar was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Southern lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Salazar misses with a series of wild punches.
Southern has closed the distance and engaged Salazar in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Southern breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bendo Southern seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Southern. Bendo Southern is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Southern closes the distance and clinches. Southern blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Salazar has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Southern after a bit of a struggle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cristobal Salazar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Southern tries to break the clinch but Salazar is controlling the position. Salazar manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Salazar throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Salazar has his foot on Southern's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Southern works his way back into a safe position though. Salazar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Southern got a little sloppy there for a moment and Salazar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Southern has managed to get both his arms back between Salazar's legs - danger averted. Salazar is pulling down on Southern's head. It's preventing any offense from Southern, at least for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salazar is looking to cinch up a triangle. Southern throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Salazar's body to avoid the submission. Salazar has instead reached around Southern's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Salazar arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Cristobal Salazar!
