Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luigi Helmut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenichi Kenji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Helmut comes to the cage accompanied by Make It Wit Chu - Queens Of The Stone Age. The crowd seem to be enjoying Kenji's choice of entrance music: Billy Idol - Eyes Without A Face. Luigi Helmut had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenichi Kenji!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kenji feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kenji won't allow Helmut to sweep him here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Helmut is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Shinto Elite MMA Academy that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Helmut is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Helmut utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kenji gets to his feet - Helmut follows without any prompting.
Kenji drives through with a takedown into Helmut's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Helmut seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Helmut has his foot on Kenji's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kenji works his way back into a safe position though.

Helmut working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kenji doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Helmut is tightening it up a little... Kenji has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Kenji reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Kenji taps out! Nice BJJ there by Helmut!
