Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Asnabb Aett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Adder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Asnabb Aett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Adder!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Chris Dean and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aett clinches with his opponent.

Adder successfully pulls guard.

Adder has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Aett can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Aett has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Adder escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aett gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Adder working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Aett doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Aett manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Aett got a little sloppy there for a moment and Adder has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Aett has managed to get both his arms back between Adder's legs - danger averted.
Aett passes Adder's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Aett knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Adder on the ground.

Adder isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Aett stacks Adder on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Aett!

A close round but John Adder will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Aett drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Aett lands a couple of elbows.
Adder controls Aett momentarily but Aett frees himself.

Aett slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Aett wants to get up but he can't break Adder's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Aett wants to control from the top but Adder keeps moving.

Adder looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Aett has picked Adder up and slammed him! Adder can't keep hold of the triangle and Aett manages to pass to side control!
Asnabb Aett overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Aett tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Aett has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Aett throws a strike aimed at the side of Adder's head but Adder avoids it well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Adder gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Adder wants to control but Aett is keeping busy.
Adder is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Aett is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Aett fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Adder sprawls well initially but Aett persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Adder slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Aett avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Aett's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Adder decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Aett kicks Adder off and gets back to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Aett enables Adder to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Aett manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Aett is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Adder tries to free his leg and advance position but Aett is retaining full guard.
Adder passes Aett's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Adder is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Aett has managed to free his arm - good work.

Adder takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Adder is trying to control the action in half guard but Aett is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Adder has gone for a leg lock! Aett slips out almost immediately though and dives into Adder's guard.

Adder wants to sweep here but Aett controlling him for the moment.
Aett slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Aett is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Adder dives in and scores a takedown into Aett's guard.

Adder drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Aett dives on top into guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Asnabb Aett.
Well Aett has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
