The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goku shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Marquez sprawls well. Marquez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Goku gets slowly back to his feet.
Goku misses with a few strikes there.
Marquez darts in looking for a takedown but Goku gets double underhooks and turns Marquez into the cage.
Marquez shoots for a takedown but Goku saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Marquez wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marquez dives in for a single leg takedown but Goku sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Goku closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Marquez quickly recovers to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Goku has eaten all the pies!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Goku looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Goku is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Marquez actively working from the bottom here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Marquez is staying active underneath Goku, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Marquez shoots in for a double leg but Goku sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Goku clinches.
Marquez trying to land knees to the body.
Marquez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Goku's efforts to push away.
Marquez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Goku pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Goku drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Son Goku dominated that round.

Marquez tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Son Goku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Goku counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops Marquez! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Goku!
