Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Colt Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darrell Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Colt Cannon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Colt Cannon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darrell Johnson ! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cannon. Cannon misses with an uppercut. Johnson saw that one coming. Cannon tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Cannon fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Cannon lands with a nice body punch. Cannon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Cannon shows good takedown defense. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cannon fails in his attempt to clinch. Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt.

Cannon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Johnson clobbers Cannon with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Cannon lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Cannon shoots in for a double leg but Johnson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Colt Cannon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cannon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Johnson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cannon's guard. Cannon is looking to stand up but Johnson isn't so interested in that idea. Johnson throws a big right hand that misses. Johnson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Johnson works over Cannon with some ground and pound from guard.

Cannon postures up in Johnson 's guard and throws a big left but Johnson blocks it. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Cannon from controlling successfully. Johnson looking for a sweep. Not yet Johnson , not yet. Johnson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Cannon is looking to stand up but Johnson won't let him.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Johnson throws a hook but Cannon avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cannon lands a nice leg kick that just misses Johnson 's sensitive parts. Cannon throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Johnson 's head. Cannon closes the distance and lands a one-two. Cannon wants to clinch. Cannon misses with a takedown and Johnson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Johnson . Cannon is breathing heavily. Cannon keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. Johnson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Cannon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Cannon is trying to control the position but Johnson postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Johnson throws a strike but Cannon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Cannon stays in close to Johnson 's body and controls the position.

Cannon pushes Johnson up against the cage in a clinch. Cannon looking to slow down the pace here. Cannon breaks the clinch.

No joy there for Johnson , who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Colt Cannon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cannon tries to clinch but Johnson is having none of it. Cannon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Johnson moves away. Cannon swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Johnson counters with a nice uppercut. Johnson misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Cannon counters with a right hand to the body. Cannon tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance. Cannon misses with a takedown and Johnson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cannon's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Johnson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Cannon has momentary wrist control but Johnson slips an elbow through the middle. Cannon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johnson is controlling him. Johnson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Cannon won't allow Johnson to sweep him here. Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cannon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Cannon with a poor takedown and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Colt Cannon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Cannon defending well though. Cannon trying to hold on to Johnson 's head to control him but Johnson postures up.
Johnson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Cannon closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Cannon throws a combination that misses enabling Johnson to counter with a crisp jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Darrell Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Johnson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Johnson . The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cannon will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Johnson stands up over Cannon, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Cannon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Johnson wants to improve his position but Cannon is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson regains full guard. Nicely done. Cannon preventing the sweep. Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cannon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Johnson working for a triangle but Cannon defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Johnson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Cannon is working to avoid the ground and pound but Johnson connects with a decent elbow. Johnson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cannon has escaped the position, nice work there. Johnson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Darrell Johnson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

After a battle for position, Johnson asserts his dominance and retains side control. Cannon misses with an elbow from the bottom. Cannon is trying to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight! Darrell Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Johnson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
