Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Linus Akerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksei Marshal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Marshal's choice of entrance music: ЦельРазгроl. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Linus Akerman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aleksei Marshal! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A swing and a miss from Akerman. A clash of legs there as Akerman blocks the low kick. Marshal misses with a body kick. Akerman changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Marshal throws a leg kick but Akerman sees it coming and moves out of range. You can see that Marshal has visibly slowed down as a result of the leg kicks Marshal throws a leg kick and Akerman counters with a body kick that stops Marshal in his tracks momentarily. Akerman fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Akerman checks the leg kick nicely there.
Akerman appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Akerman looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Marshal is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Akerman with a body shot. Akerman throws a nice outside leg kick. Akerman lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Marshal darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Akerman thumps Marshal with a low kick. Marshal looks for the body kick but Akerman saw that one coming. Aleksei Marshal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Akerman is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Marshal. Akerman throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akerman takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Good exchange - Marshal coming out on top. Akerman lands a slapping body shot.
Akerman misses with a hook. Marshal ducked under it nicely. Akerman darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Marshal lands with a hook. Akerman tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Akerman scores with a hook to the body. Marshal takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Akerman misses the jab. Marshal misses with a body kick. Marshal scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Akerman doesn't seem bothered though. Akerman moves out of range as Marshal throws a body kick.
Akerman throws a head kick that misses. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Akerman throws an overhand right that lands on Marshal's shoulder, as Marshal tries to avoid the shot. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Marshal - that will leave a mark!
A big right from Marshal misses. It looked like Akerman wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Akerman lands a jab to Marshal's midsection. Akerman connects with a body shot that sends Marshal's belly button to the back. Akerman lands a head shot. Marshal misses with a body kick. Marshal tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Akerman is able to avoid easily. Akerman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Akerman avoids a kick to the body.
Marshal getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Akerman is looking to slow Marshal down with leg kicks. Akerman tries a head kick but it misses.
Akerman connects with an inside leg kick. Marshal takes one to the side of the head.
Marshal throws a head kick but Akerman moves out of range.
Akerman looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Marshal pushes Akerman away with a front kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marshal is looking to score with low kicks. And Akerman counters with a quick kick to the body but Marshal blocks it. Marshal ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Akerman moves away. Marshal looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Akerman lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Aleksei Marshal has been cut. Marshal pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A shot to the liver by Akerman. Beautiful body shot. Akerman gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Akerman misses with a few strikes there.
Akerman scores with a jab to the jaw. Akerman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A clash of legs there as Marshal blocks the low kick. Marshal slips under a jab from Akerman. Marshal is looking to land body kicks. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Marshal throws a front kick that sends Akerman stumbling back into the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Akerman moves out of range as Marshal throws a body kick.
Akerman takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Akerman checks a leg kick. Akerman scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Marshal displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Akerman throws out the jab. Marshal feints a counter leg kick. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Marshal crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Akerman - the referee stops the clock and Marshal gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Akerman. Marshal manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. A lazy body kick from Marshal and Akerman cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Marshal throws the left hand but Akerman avoids the punch easily. A bone on bone clash there as Akerman blocks the leg kick.
Akerman jabs at Marshal's body. Marshal scores with a nice body kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. A chopping leg kick lands by Marshal. Marshal swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Marshal takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Linus Akerman dominated that round. The cut man is working on Aleksei Marshal's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Akerman ducks under a wild hook from Marshal. Marshal tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Akerman throws out a leg kick but Marshal moves out of range and Akerman only half commits. Akerman digs a good hook to Marshal's body.
Marshal throws a lazy uppercut
and Akerman counters with a series of strikes. Marshal will be more careful next time no doubt. Akerman lands a big uppercut and Marshal crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Marshal looks OK. Akerman waves Marshal back to his feet!
Marshal is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Akerman connects with a solid leg kick. Marshal is still on wobbly legs! Can Akerman finish him? Marshal walks straight into a right hand from Akerman - that's dropped him! Akerman jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Marshal from any more punishment! Marshal complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
