The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wind circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wind goes for a double leg but Clements avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Clements continues to drive forward.
As Wind tries to get set, Clements tries to push him back and clinch up but Wind manages to avoid the attempt.
Clements really is a fat lump.

Clements rushes Wind and presses him up against the cage.

Clements breaks from the clinch.

Wind jumps guard.

Wind manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Clements throws a series of punches but Wind moves out of range.

Clements has taken the fight to the clinch.
Clements tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wind just stands there and leans against the cage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wind accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Wind slips nicely into half guard.

Wind wants to free his trapped foot but Clements is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Wind decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Wind is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Let's hope that Wind has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Clements tries to keep at a distance but Wind has taken the fight into the clinch.
Clements is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wind to keep the fight standing.
Wind has Clements pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Clements manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Wind is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Wind gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Arlon Wind will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Wind tries to clinch up but Clements circles away and keeps his distance.
Wind dives in and grabs Clements's left leg, looking for a takedown. Clements pushes down on Wind's head and hops out.

Clements fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wind, pushing him back against the cage.

Wind's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Wind closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Clements's guard.
Clements is wriggling around but Wind manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Wind seems to be working for a kimura but Clements defends the submission attempt.
Wind wants to control but Clements is keeping him busy.
Wind seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Clements tries to roll over but Wind keeps him under control.
Arlon Wind has got the better of the ground game so far.

Clements has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Wind is on him like a limpet, forcing Clements back against the cage.

Wind has hold of one of Clements's legs. Clements is fighting the takedown attempt but Wind gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Wind is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Wind gets to his feet. Clements looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Wind tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Clements paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Clements gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Wind to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Clements bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wind's guard.

Wind working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Clements doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Clements manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wind is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Clements clinches up with Wind and pushes him back against the cage.

Wind is trying to trip Clements. He has hold of a leg but Clements is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Wind persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Arlon Wind showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Wind counters with a nice uppercut.
Wind ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Clements moves away.
Clements keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Clements tries to bum rush Wind with a series of wild strikes but Wind uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Clements wants to clinch up but Wind keeps it at a distance.

Wind shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Clements sprawls well. Clements wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wind gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Clements tries to close the distance and clinch but Wind swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Guy Clements has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arlon Wind.

Clements tries to kick Wind off but Wind keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Clements is refusing to be controlled, as Wind sits in half guard.
Clements is trying to maintain the position but Wind is very close to passing his half guard.
Clements is looking for a sweep. Wind is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Wind is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Clements tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wind swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Clements is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Even with his hooks in, Wind manages to miss with strikes from the back.
