Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Crack Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kongchai Phetboonme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kongchai Phetboonme has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Crack Head's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Crack Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kongchai Phetboonme!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Topper Green and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Head misses
and Phetboonme counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Head thinking.

Head forces Phetboonme back against the cage and clinches.

Head breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Head swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Head avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Crunch! Head slams his shin into Phetboonme's torso.

Head has Phetboonme up against the cage in a clinch.
Phetboonme struggles to land a body shot inside as Head controls his hands.

Head manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Phetboonme trying to control but Head is working from the bottom.
Head looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Head scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Head definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Phetboonme loads up on a big right hand but Head slips the punch.
Head throws a counter high kick but Phetboonme was just alert enough to avoid it.

Phetboonme gets caught napping as Head dives in and scores a takedown. Phetboonme manages to retain guard.
Head slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Head landing with the ground and pound.
Head is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Head's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Head stands up and waves to Phetboonme to follow him.
Head tries a head kick but it misses.
A little jabbing left from Phetboonme on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Head throws a head kick but Phetboonme moves out of range.
Head looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Head has Phetboonme up against the cage in a clinch.

Head breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Phetboonme avoids the head kick by Head.
Phetboonme circles away from the clinch attempt.
Crack Head seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Phetboonme takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Head gets a clinch.
Head gets through Phetboonme's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Phetboonme misses with a body punch.

Head manages to break the clinch.
Phetboonme avoids the head kick by Head.
Phetboonme swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Head counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Phetboonme is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Kongchai Phetboonme is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Head throws a head kick but Phetboonme moves out of range.
Phetboonme now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Head swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Head misses with a head kick.
Phetboonme avoids a punch combination nicely.
Phetboonme avoids the head kick by Head.
Head misses with a wild body shot.
Head misses with a takedown attempt - Phetboonme sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Head is looking to clinch.
Phetboonme appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Head shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Phetboonme defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crack Head dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Head goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Head misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Head throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Phetboonme tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Head is in Phetboonme's guard.
Head trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Head is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Head stands up and waves to Phetboonme to follow him.
Phetboonme throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Head is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Phetboonme can do to turn this around?

Head fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Phetboonme is out of range.

Head shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Head decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

A looping hook to the body misses from Head. Phetboonme does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nice defenses there by Head.

Head closes the distance and clinches.
Phetboonme tries to throw a body punch but Head avoids it by throwing Phetboonme back against the cage.
Phetboonme working aggressively here.
Head misses with the head strike.
Head blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Head pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Head moves into the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Head swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Head misses with a body kick.
Phetboonme looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Crack Head is winning the standup battle so far.
Phetboonme looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Head looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Head keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Head has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Phetboonme is breathing heavily.
Phetboonme working to try and regain half guard.

Head content just to control the position here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Head lands with some strikes.
Head controlling his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crack Head dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


No luck with that takedown attempt from Head.

Head looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Head is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Head keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Head looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Head looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Phetboonme with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Head works his way into side control.

Head thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Head decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Phetboonme takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Head throws a sloppy head kick
letting Phetboonme counter with a right hand.

Head moves into the clinch successfully.

Phetboonme goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Head escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Head closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Phetboonme did well to prevent Head getting side control.
Phetboonme pushes Head off but Head dives into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Head has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Phetboonme is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Head yanks on the arm and Phetboonme is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Head.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Crack Head!
A determined Crack Head didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
