Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yasuhiro Akagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Denke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akagi comes to the cage accompanied by Nash the Slash - American Band. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yasuhiro Akagi! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Karl Denke! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akagi throws a leg kick but Denke sees it coming and moves out of range. Akagi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Akagi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Karl Denke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Denke listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Akagi with a hook. Akagi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Denke lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Denke swings widly with a right hand
and Akagi counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Denke throws a hook to the side of Akagi's head but Akagi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Denke throws a right hand that misses
enabling Akagi to counter with a crisp jab. Akagi jabbing away but nothing is landing. Denke has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Denke throws an off balance right hand
and Akagi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Akagi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Denke. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Denke misses with an uppercut
and Denke takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A big right from Denke misses. Akagi throws a body punch but Denke moves out of range. Denke throws out a counter right but Akagi avoids it with no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Denke walks into a left hand. Denke throws a hook but Akagi blocks it. Akagi moves out of range as Denke strikes. Denke throws a poor cross that misses
and Akagi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Denke is rocked!
It looks like Karl Denke has been cut. Denke throws an overhand right that lands on Akagi's shoulder, as Akagi tries to avoid the shot. Akagi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Denke takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Denke misses with a few strikes there.
Denke waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Akagi. Akagi slips under a jab. Denke keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Akagi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Akagi moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Denke throws a jab but it's blocked by Akagi.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Denke with a hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Denke misses with a double jab
and Akagi counters with a stiff right hand. Nice defenses there by Akagi. Denke waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Akagi. Akagi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Denke. Akagi seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Akagi ducks under a wild hook from Denke. Akagi throwing a counter right hand but Denke manages to avoid it. Akagi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Denke. Akagi is looking to counter punch. Denke might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Akagi tries to land a front kick but Denke steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Denke lunges at Akagi with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Akagi's hand. Akagi cracks Denke with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Denke paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Denke swings widly with a right hand
letting Akagi counter with a right hand. A telegraphed right hand from Denke misses the target. Akagi throwing a counter right hand but Denke manages to avoid it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akagi fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. The fighters circling - Denke throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Akagi misses with a jab to the body
and Akagi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Akagi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Denke was well out of range. Poor timing from Akagi. Denke misses with a right hand and Akagi counters with a good, hard body kick but Denke shrugs it off. Akagi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Denke throws a jab when Akagi was well out of range. Denke missing with a left hand there. Akagi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Denke misses the shot to the body. Akagi throws an overhand right that lands on Denke's shoulder, as Denke tries to avoid the shot. Akagi walks into a stiff left hand from Denke. Denke throws a big shot that misses. Nice uppercut lands for Denke. That snapped Akagi's head back.
Akagi is looking to clinch but Denke is avoiding it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Akagi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Denke. Akagi misses with an uppercut. Denke lands with a cross. Karl Denke is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Akagi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Akagi lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Denke misses with a straight left. Akagi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Denke throws out the jab. Nice shot lands for Denke. Akagi fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Denke connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Akagi tumbling to the canvas! Denke pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Akagi was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Karl Denke! Karl Denke is the new welterweight champion! A relieved looking Karl Denke thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
