Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Titus Pope!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Zachariah Bobachi!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bobachi looks to throw a body kick

and Pope counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Bobachi successfully pulls guard.

Bobachi looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Bobachi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pope gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bobachi isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Pope stacks Bobachi on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Pope!
Pope works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bobachi manages to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bobachi wants to get back to full guard.
Pope really is a fat lump.
Pope working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Pope slips a nice elbow through Bobachi's hands, connecting with Bobachi's forehead.

Bobachi is defending against the submission attempts here by Pope.

Pope is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Bobachi actively working from the bottom here.

Pope decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Bobachi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Bobachi scores with a kick to the midsection.
Bobachi throws a quick inside leg kick.

Pope moves out of range of the body kick.
It looked like Pope was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Pope takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Pope moves out of range as Bobachi throws a body kick.
Both fighters circling a little - Bobachi finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Pope closes the distance and pushes Bobachi back into the cage.

Pope escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bobachi misses with a body kick.
Pope slips a jab and a cross from Bobachi.
Bobachi throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Pope counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bobachi jumps guard.

Bobachi throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Pope escapes and throws Bobachi's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pope in side control lands a decent elbow.
Bobachi is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bobachi is looking to regain half guard here but Pope keeps moving and retains side control.
Bobachi takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Bobachi manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Bobachi trying to advance position but Pope counters by regaining guard.
Pope might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bobachi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pope is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pope has escaped and now he's on top!

Pope looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Bobachi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Pope works over Bobachi with some ground and pound from guard.

Bobachi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Pope has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Bobachi to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Pope is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Bobachi pulls down on the head and he's put Pope to sleep! This one is all over!
