Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sinister Strike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Victoria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sinister Strike has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sinister Strike!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Victoria!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strike tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Victoria was well out of range. Poor timing from Strike.
Strike lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Strike throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Victoria counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Strike softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Victoria breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Strike swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Strike throws out a loose jab but Victoria uses good head movement to avoid it.
Strike circles away from the clinch attempt
and Strike counters with a two punch combo.

Victoria gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Victoria turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Strike is trying to escape the position but Victoria is controlling the position.
Strike really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Strike sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Strike is trying to maintain the position but Victoria is very close to passing his half guard.
Victoria looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Strike is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Victoria's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Victoria's back!

Strike is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Victoria is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Victoria's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Strike misses with an uppercut. Victoria saw that one coming.

Strike throws a lazy right hand but Victoria sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Victoria tries to clinch there but Strike circles away.

Victoria closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Victoria lands in his opponent's guard.
Strike controls Victoria momentarily but Victoria frees himself.
Victoria is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Strike wants to stand but Victoria is controlling the position.
Strike not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Victoria engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Victoria decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sinister Strike will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Victoria has Strike up against the cage in a clinch.
Victoria is trying to drag Strike to the mat but Strike just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Strike is trying to break the clinch but Victoria is controlling him.

Victoria gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Strike is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Victoria is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Sinister Strike is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A frustrated look appears on Strike's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Victoria manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Strike is fighting off a takedown attempt but Victoria is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Strike to the mat. Strike regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
