Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daren Blackwell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Ansome! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ansome lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Blackwell circles away quickly and effectively. Blackwell seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Ansome feints a jab promting Blackwell to slip. Ansome then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Blackwell slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Ansome throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Blackwell was covering up waiting for the punch and Ansome finishes the takedown easily into guard. Ansome is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Ansome trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ansome sitting in guard, not really doing much. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ansome postures up.
Blackwell wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Ansome manages to pass to side control. Blackwell is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ansome content to control rather than advance. Blackwell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Blackwell wants to get back to his feet.

The fighters are battling for position here. Blackwell manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Ansome is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ansome tightens his grip and picks Blackwell up, before dumping him to the ground. Blackwell manages to land in guard. Blackwell wants to hit a switch here but Ansome passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Blackwell there! Ansome tries to push Blackwell's head away but Blackwell is holding on tight. Ansome trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Ansome avoids the attempt from Blackwell to control. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ansome controlling from the full mount. Blackwell working to try and regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Blackwell is desperately trying to improve his position but Ansome has a good base and remains in mount. Ansome avoids the attempt from Blackwell to control. Ansome has hold of Blackwell's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Blackwell manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Dan Ansome dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Ansome clinches up against the cage. Blackwell wants to break free but Ansome has control.
Ansome is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Blackwell can't fight it off and eventually Ansome manages to take the fight to the floor. Blackwell looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Ansome working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ansome showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Blackwell wants to stand and escape but Ansome is having none of it. Ansome wants to control from the top but Blackwell keeps moving. Blackwell controls Ansome momentarily but Ansome frees himself. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Blackwell holds on and takes a little breather. Ansome passes into half guard. Blackwell trying to control from the bottom.
Ansome is looking to take a break and control but Blackwell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Blackwell is trying to maintain the position but Ansome is very close to passing his half guard. Blackwell is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ansome keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Ansome is continuing to stall. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Blackwell trying to control but Ansome postures up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Ansome throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Blackwell. Ansome throws a right hand that Blackwell ducks under and follows up with a left that Blackwell also avoids with ease. Ansome misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Blackwell decides to pull guard. Blackwell has Ansome pulled in close to control his posture. Ansome wants to control from the top but Blackwell keeps moving. Blackwell punching from the bottom. Blackwell being controlled here, momentarily. Ansome trying to control but Blackwell is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ansome pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Blackwell is keeping the position for now. Blackwell wants to get back to his feet but Ansome is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ansome controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Blackwell wants to stand but Ansome is controlling the position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Ansome throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Blackwell sees it coming and avoids it easily. Blackwell seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Ansome swinging wildly here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ansome clinches with his opponent.

Dan Ansome showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Ansome has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Blackwell tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Blackwell blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Blackwell ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Blackwell no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Ansome pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Blackwell is keeping the position for now. Blackwell wants to stand up but Ansome is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blackwell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dan Ansome has got the better of the ground game so far. Ansome prevents Blackwell from getting back to his feet. Ansome trying to control the position from guard on top but Blackwell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Blackwell being controlled here, momentarily. As Ansome looks to move away, Blackwell throws a big counter combo but Ansome just gets out of the way. Ansome has managed to clinch.

Ansome jumps guard and drags Blackwell to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Ansome throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Ansome pulls Blackwell in close to his closed guard and prevents Blackwell from doing any damage or advancing position. Ansome is trying to control the position but Blackwell postures up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Blackwell stands up over Ansome, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Blackwell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ansome looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Daren Blackwell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dan Ansome is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Ansome lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Ansome comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ansome has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
