Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Batts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ludo Van Veen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Batts comes to the cage accompanied by Midnight City - By: M83. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Batts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ludo Van Veen! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Veen avoids a punch combination nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Batts. Van Veen does a little dance to reset his feet. Batts misses with a low kick as Van Veen jumps back. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Van Veen! But no joy. Batts defending well as Van Veen loads up on a big left hand. Batts pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A jab from Batts finds it's way through Van Veen's defenses. Van Veen on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Batts cracks Van Veen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Batts dives in for a single leg takedown but Van Veen sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Van Veen counters with a body kick. Batts throws a jab when Van Veen was well out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van Veen throws a body shot but no joy. Batts throws a head kick that misses. Batts throws a hook but Van Veen blocks it. Batts takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
It looks like Peter Batts has been cut. Batts dips to his left and cracks Van Veen with an uppercut!
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Veen thuds a left hand into Batts's body. Batts steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Van Veen. Van Veen slips a jab from Batts. Van Veen has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Batts. Batts blocks a head kick by Van Veen.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Batts, as that shot connected.
Batts drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Batts sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Van Veen is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Batts is putting a hurting on Van Veen here, landing some big shots from side control. Batts fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Batts postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Batts throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Van Veen works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Batts working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Van Veen's thigh. Van Veen counters though and makes it back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Batts stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Van Veen swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Van Veen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Batts trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Batts with a nice head shot there. Batts throwing strikes but missing. Van Veen wants to sweep here but Batts controlling him for the moment. Batts throws a big elbow that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Veen looking to control.
Batts in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Batts has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Batts keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Van Veen's head. Batts lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Batts throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Van Veen works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Batts trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Batts throws a big elbow that misses. Batts throws a big elbow that misses. Batts looking to pass the guard. Batts postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Batts throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Van Veen works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Nice work. Batts throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Batts slips a nice elbow through Van Veen's hands, connecting with Van Veen's forehead. Batts looking for a submission but Van Veen manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

Batts loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Batts is looking to advance position but Van Veen has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Batts is desperately trying to improve his position but Van Veen has a good base and remains in mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peter Batts dominated that round. The cut man is working on Peter Batts's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Batts tries for a takedown but Van Veen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Van Veen appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Batts is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Van Veen can do to turn this around? Batts throws the left hand but Van Veen avoids the punch easily. Van Veen walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Batts shoots in for a takedown but Van Veen shows good takedown defense. Van Veen is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Batts with a body shot. Van Veen lands a jab to Batts's midsection. Peter Batts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fighters circle momentarily. Batts darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Batts lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Batts misses with a takedown and Van Veen counters with a nice right hand that sends Batts toppling to the canvas! Batts scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Van Veen finish him?!
Batts is rocked! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Batts. That's going to take a lot out of him. This has been an exciting period of action! Van Veen avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Oh Batts is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Batts lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Batts cracks Van Veen with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Van Veen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Batts throws a hook but Van Veen blocks it. Batts displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Van Veen throws out the jab. An attempted straight right counter from Batts misses the target. Jab from Van Veen. Batts throws a jab but it's blocked by Van Veen. Van Veen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Van Veen misses with a low kick as Batts jumps back. Batts with a nice cross. Van Veen lands an overhand right. Van Veen misses with a straight left. Batts lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Van Veen has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

and Van Veen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ludo Van Veen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Batts throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Batts throws a sloppy head kick and Van Veen moves out of range easily. Van Veen takes one on the button. Batts shoots in for a double leg but Van Veen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Batts throws a jab but it's blocked by Van Veen. Van Veen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Batts sees it coming and avoids it easily. Batts looks to score with a jab to the body but Van Veen is just out of range. Van Veen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Batts looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Batts looks to throw the jab but Van Veen is out of range. Batts with a lazy takedown attempt and Van Veen counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

We've been told by Batts's head coaches at LOD: Scrap Squad that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Batts lands a high kick!
Batts throws a jab but it's blocked by Van Veen. Van Veen misses with a wild body shot. Batts throws a head kick that misses and Van Veen counters with a stiff right hand. A thudding body kick lands there by Batts!
Peter Batts is winning the standup battle so far. Batts throws a big shot that misses. Van Veen misses with a wild body shot. Batts looks to throw a body kick and Van Veen counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Batts fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Van Veen sprawls well initially but Batts persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Van Veen makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Van Veen. Van Veen lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Batts throws a hook but Van Veen avoids it easily. Van Veen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Van Veen thinks about the counter body kick. Batts misses with an uppercut. Ludo Van Veen very nearly forgot to thank Vandal & Laundry amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name.
