Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter Hurst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geronimo Fernanda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fernanda is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Classical Gas. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Geronimo Fernanda was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurst avoids a punch combination nicely.
Fernanda throws a head kick that misses.
Fernanda swinging wildly here.
Fernanda lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hurst circles away quickly and effectively.
Hurst is looking for a counter combo.
Fernanda throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hurst was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
A head kick misses from Fernanda.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hurst really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fernanda tries to bum rush Hurst with a series of wild strikes but Hurst uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Fernanda goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Fernanda tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hurst swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Fernanda shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Hurst wants to stand and escape but Fernanda is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hurst escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fernanda gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fernanda wants to control from the top but Hurst keeps moving.
Fernanda won't allow Hurst to get back to his feet.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

You can see the frustration on Hurst's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Fernanda creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hurst sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Fernanda is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hurst looks calm but he's in trouble here. Fernanda gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hurst is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Fernanda lets go of the hold and Hurst can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Geronimo Fernanda!
