The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Parsia pinned against the cage. Parsia gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

We've been informed that Parsia has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Let's hope that Parsia has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Parsia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brooks keeps working.

The referee warns Brooks that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Brooks takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Parsia's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
