Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Simon Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rickety Cricket (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Simon Walker has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Simon Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rickety Cricket!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cricket fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Walker sprawls well initially but Cricket persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cricket is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Walker looks like he's trying to stand up.
Walker trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Walker has hold of Cricket's hands but Cricket slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Cricket is controlling the pace.
Cricket has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Walker wants to get back to his feet.

Cricket is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Walker is just riding it out for now. Cricket eventually gives up the hold.
Cricket drops an elbow to the side of Walker's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walker is trying to stand back up but Cricket is controlling him
Cricket working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Cricket thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Walker's head.

Cricket seems to be looking for submissions.
Cricket stops Walker from getting back to his feet.
Cricket working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Walker is trying to stand back up but Cricket is controlling him
Cricket trying to control from half guard but Walker is working away.

Cricket is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Walker is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rickety Cricket!
