Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Terry Tonka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ford Harrison! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harrison swings away with a leg kick that misses. Tonka shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Tonka was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Harrison is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Harrison throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Tonka seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Tonka tries to stand and escape but Harrison is controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harrison looking for submissions off his back. Tonka wants to control but Harrison is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harrison works his way to full guard. Good work. Tonka throws a strike but Harrison rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Harrison looking to pass the guard. Tonka trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Harrison working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Tonka trying to keep a closed guard but Harrison is proving a slippery customer.
Tonka wants to sweep but no luck. Tonka keeping moving, preventing Harrison from controlling successfully. Harrison wants to stand but Tonka is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harrison throws a big elbow that misses.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Harrison has managed to clinch.
Tonka misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Harrison.
Tonka lands a good knee to the midsection. Harrison won't want to take too many of those. Harrison stalling the fight.
Harrison looks winded! Tonka is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Tonka looking to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A battle for position here, against the cage. Harrison pulls Tonka into guard.
Tonka throws an elbow that misses. Harrison uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tonka's guard. Nice move by Harrison!
Harrison must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Harrison with a flurry of punches that miss. Harrison wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Tonka's closed guard. He's half up but Tonka has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Tonka pivots and extends the arm, Harrison falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Tonka! Well done that man!
