Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Val Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Sherman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rashad Sherman has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Val Savage's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Val Savage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rashad Sherman! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sherman lands with a nice body kick. Sherman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Savage swivels and escapes. Sherman misses with a body kick. Sherman drives through and clinches with Savage against the cage.
Sherman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sherman loads up on a big right hand but Savage slips the punch. Savage gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Savage could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Sherman manages to break the clinch.
Savage wants to clinch and Sherman counters with a left to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sherman has Savage up against the cage in a clinch.
Sherman is trying to force a seperation but Savage has the dominant position. Savage turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Savage stands up and beckons Sherman to his feet. Savage tries to clinch up. Savage fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Sherman checks it well. Sherman tries to clinch up but Savage circles away and keeps his distance. Savage has managed to clinch.
Sherman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sherman has taken the fight to the clinch.
Savage tries for a takedown but Sherman manages to get underhooks.
Savage wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Savage breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sherman tries a head kick but it misses.
Sherman shoots in looking for a takedown. Savage tries to sprawl out of it but Sherman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Savage manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sherman looks winded!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A good leg kick by Sherman. Rashad Sherman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A combination from Savage does no damage. Sherman tries to land a front kick but Savage steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Savage throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Savage clinches. Savage is trying to break the clinch but Sherman is controlling him. Sherman is trying to push Savage away but Savage has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Sherman is defending well against a takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savage escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Savage feints and as Sherman raises his hands in defense, Savage changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Sherman uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Sherman is looking to take this fight into the clinch. The fight moves into the clinch position. Sherman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sherman pushes Savage up against the cage in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Savage tries to work over Sherman's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Savage breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sherman throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sherman misses with the combination.
Savage clinches up against the cage. Savage breaks the clinch.

Rashad Sherman dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Savage shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Sherman scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Savage manages to mount him!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Savage cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Savage get's back to his feet. Savage moves into range and clinches up with Sherman. Savage is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savage breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sherman clinches. Savage is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Val Savage. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sherman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sherman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Savage. Savage drops down looking for a counter takedown but Sherman sprawls and moves away. Sherman moves into the clinch. Savage is trying to drag Sherman to the mat but Sherman just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Sherman tries to break free but Savage pushes him back against the cage. Savage tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Savage is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Sherman to keep the fight standing. A body shot lands from Sherman.
Sherman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Savage blocks a head kick by Sherman.
Savage avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sherman doesn't manage to clinch there - Savage circles away.
Savage shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sherman as he jumps to the side. Rashad Sherman seems to be getting the better of the standup. Sherman throws a series of strikes that have Savage backpedaling.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Rashad Sherman will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Sherman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Savage tries to avoid it but Sherman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Savage to the ground. Savage escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Savage blocks the body kick.
Savage appears to be looking for a big counter. Savage pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sherman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Savage swats him away and circles back towards the center. Excellent takedown into side control there by Sherman. Savage holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Sherman working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sherman creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Savage is trying to get back to half guard. Sherman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Savage wants to control but Sherman postures up. Savage is trying to get back to half guard. Sherman wants to control but Savage is keeping him busy. Savage can't do much from the bottom here. Sherman has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Savage manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sherman tries to roll over but Savage keeps him under control. Savage seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sherman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Sherman throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Savage manages to pass to side control. Savage trying to control the action but Sherman is working from the bottom. Sherman is working to avoid the ground and pound but Savage connects with a decent elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savage goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Sherman rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Savage's guard! Nice work there by Sherman! Sherman looking to pass the guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sherman's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Sherman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Savage has control of Sherman's left arm, preventing Sherman from doing any damage. Sherman lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sherman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sherman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Sherman wants to control from the top but Savage keeps moving. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Savage pulls Sherman in close to his closed guard and prevents Sherman from doing any damage or advancing position.
And that's the end of the fight! Rashad Sherman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Sherman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
